Great butcher, one of the best in the west end. 4 stars because they could be a little more knowledgeable about their products. I had to complain about the shape of a cut, but they provided adequate customer service and solved the issue. Otherwise the quality of the meat is great.
Bought one of the large steak pies … probably the best steak pie I’ve ever eaten. Plenty of very tender beef. Thoroughly recommended!
The shop looks great and there are good cuts of raw meat available but the sausages we bought were simply inedible. I like salty food but they were so incredibly salty that we had to throw most of them away. Worst of all, we were looking forward to them and made a meal out of it because of the expectation of a well reviewed, award winning butcher's and the quality we expected just wasn't there.
Spot on. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent meat quality and thanks a lot for the reverse searing advice! First time I’ve done that and it came out an absolute treat! Loved it and will be back :-
New location Byres Rd between Roxburgh St and Observatory Rd. Quality butchers. Good service and knowledgeable staff. Spotlessly clean. It’s a pleasure to shop here. Meat is always top quality
I don't need another reason to visit Byres Road, but if I did, it's this wee Gem. We went in earlier for a look around. The staff were friendly and really accommodating. They told us about their products from the parma ham covered chicken to their Italian sausages but the one thing that caught our eye was the black pudding sausage rolls. They were the biz. They're meaty, delicious, and with just enough black pudding to add a kick to your bite. And, they were a steal at the price. The only downside was, we'd just had tapas so couldn't eat them straight away. Two minutes in the air fryer later done the trick though. Well done guys, top notch. We'll definitely be back.
Lovely butchers, steak pie was amazing and got some free scraps for the dog! Very welcoming and friendly will definitely be back!
I was really looking forward to checking this place out. Went out of our way on our walk home to get here at 5.10pm yesterday on Byres Rd. Everything was packed up, tills were counted and to top it off the customer service was bleh. They couldn't wait to get us out of the shop... service was very unfriendly. It was my first time in a butcher in Scotland. Made me feel like I should have just picked up my meat at the M& S foods up the road which I walked past to get to Rodgers! If the website and internet says closing time is 5.30pm... you shouldn't be packed up by 5.10pm. I only bought chicken breast but i normally always buy more than whats on my list when i go to the butchers.. except when i cant browse / see anything and made to feel like im unwanted in the shop. Edited to add when we got home, we realised the chicken they sold us was probably a day or so away from going off. Had a smell to it and wasn't a nice pink and had a slight grey tinge to it. Was forced to cook it that day or risk not being able to cook and eat it at all in a couple of days.
Older man with grey hair is very rude. I am in fairly regularly and his attitude is always stinking. Can’t fault the products though, always top class.
Found this on way bk from my bank . What an amazing find the meat is so fresh the butchers great advice I bought ham hock plus 2 steaks cost was 39.50 it might seem expensive but I'm a big meat eater so are all my G. Children and children lol . Everyone comes to mine for roast dinner everyday . This is now going be my go to for meat superb tender and fresh plus ham hock did not smell of bleach like supermarkets highly recommend to everyone who enjoys a fresh cut of meat .
