Great place to eat fish and chips. The food is affordable , tasty , delicious and fresh food that they make in front of you. The staff are sociable , friendly , kind , understanding , helpful , polite and respectful. I brought fish and chips from them which cost me £8.80 , it was absolutely amazing to eat and it was hot as well which was good because it didn't get cold easily. Go there and buy your food from them because it is worth every penny. I have been going there for years and it is good place to go if you're hungry. They have great customer service that will make you like them even more and more as a good friend. The place is clean , tidy , retro , big , spacious , classic and every time I go there I feel like I stepped back in time which is great experience because I know people want to live like they just saw this shop for the first time. They sell cod bites with £8.00 and it is worth the price.
Used Rock & Roe for a church supper there were about 33 of us in total. Had someone loads with them in the weeks leading up to it - and it was clear and smooth communication the whole time. Come the night of the supper and the fish and chips and sausages were prepped on time for collection & the staff helped load the boxes into the car. The portion sizes were perfect - not too much and not too little! The chips were superb and the fish well fried! Honestly, the guys hit it for 6!! I could not fault them and we were all talking at the end of the evening about doing it again! Would highly recommend! Thanks Rock & Roe!!

Lovely fish and chip takeaway shop. Cod tastes great it’s moist just how fish should be. The batter is tasty and a bag of large chips is enough to feed a small family. We wouldn’t go anywhere else. Staff always friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend 100%.

First time ordering here after recommendations from friends and family, and it was ok. The chips were tasty but soggy, though I suppose many people like soggy chip shop chips. Everything was under-seasoned, and my rock had a spine in it. The fish was very nicely cooked, though, and the wait was not long, even though the queue was. Warning, they do not take card payments, despite social distancing rules!
Best fish and chips in the Buckhurst Hill / Loughton area. Always fresh, good portions and reasonably priced. Quality is very high and all the staff are friendly, polite and go out of their way to get to know us locals. Having a great chippie is one of those things that can make or break an area. Thankfully, we have Rock 'n Roe.
Very tasty fish and chips. After moving from one branch where this shop exist, I was very happy to see there was another rock n roe shop, just a bus ride away from where I moved to.
We've always loved Rock 'n Roe. My little boy loves the cod roe or 'pink fish'. I usually have rock but tonight i tried their skate and it was amazing. The batter stays crunchy not soggy and not dripping with oil and the fish always is fresh and hot. Really the best we've had and they are so friendly.
Best chippie in the area. Consistent quality. Friendly and prompt service. Would not go anywhere else for my Friday night fish supper!
