Beautiful little coffee place right at the beach. It was really nice to enjoy our Cappuccinos and Latte Macchiatos on the terrace and watching people bodysurf in the freezing sea. Make sure to have a pleasant stroll alpng the beach while at it. The Crusoe’s Tynemouth have a great variety of drinks.Food: 5/5
A restaurant with reasonably priced food that was a good quality. Where this place really excels is its location and indoor aesthetic. Perfect placement on the beach gives amazing views out to sea and is an amazing place to go when the weather is hot and sunny.
Myself and my wife had our wedding reception at Crusoe’s on Saturday 27.07.24. It was the perfect evening staff are incredible, nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere of a beachside wedding is amazing and we had the perfect night. Pricing is very reasonable and our DJ Rod was a great entertainer whilst listening to our requests. Cannot recommend highly enough - you will not be disappointed.
Went for breakfast, nice meal, service great, friendly staff will definitely be back, plus view from restaurant of beach fantasticFood: 5/5
I loved how the staff are nice polite and helpful here.. food has big portion and is beyond deliciousFood: 5/5
Been here many many times over the years. The street food side has always been fantastic when it's open albeit slow hence the generous 3 starts. Tried the general side for the 1st time and felt disappointed enough to leave a review in the hope that they'll pull their socks up. The food was wrong, even after being corrected. Nothing nice or special about any of it, just all fried basic tasteless dry and expensive! I got a squid wrap eventually it had 6 small bits of what looked and tasted like frozen supermarket squid, and a truck load of rocket, no sauce, was dry and difficult to eat. The kids meals were 70% chips, and the beans looked like they'd been nuked in the microwave for 20 mins. The waiting staff came across as bothered and irritated when I was asking questions about the food, and very few of them seemed to know what they were doing, I saw one server dripping food off the plate as they were walking to serve it at a table. It wasn't even that busy. They got our order wrong at the till, resulting in an overcharge, which was rectified with more mediocre food offerings. I won't be going back, money and special eats out are too precious to risk the wasted experience, wish I'd gone up the beach to the view on this occasion or along to any number of truly delicious eating places in Tynemouth. Kid-friendliness: Not a good kids menu, all unhealthy.
Lovely cafe right on the beach. Can sit in or out, ir if you prefer can get takeaway from the hatch. We had chips and hotdog and was very tasty & reasonably priced. Service was quick and friendly. Parking right by it, or up on the roadside above. Parking: Paid parking right next door or free on street above Kid-friendliness: Ideal place for kids by the beach and take out available
Lovely food coupled with a chilled out atmosphere equals a great place to be. Myself and my friend drive over from South Shields just to take in the atmosphere. There's something special about Crusoe's Tynemouth, From entering the cafe you are greeted by welcoming staff who are not only helpful but lovely. Sitting anywhere in the cafe, you have a great view of the sea. Such a restful visit each time. To sum it up: Soaking up the views mixed with great food and beautiful staff, what more could you ask for? 5 Vegetarian options: Jacket potato with tuna and side salad. Good portion. Pictured is a kids Fish & Chips with mushy peas and Robinsons juice all for £6.95. Bargain
Great cafe/fish and chip restaurant on the beach. Tasty and fresh fish, and friendly service. Be aware that it's a little on the expensive side, but not excessively. Also that if you're seated inside near the door, it can be quite draughty, and that the toilets are a little cramped. Otherwise recommended for a casual lunch or a coffee stop.
Well it was not the best experience saved by a few staff. The place wasn’t particularly busy, though it was like staff did not know their individual roles and responsibilities and customers were left for long periods of time without service. Some customers coming in through different entrances and even getting a table by themselves and collecting menus prior to those that had queued! The food was okay but I wish we had ordered from the street food menu as this food looked much better. Also charged for the food before it had been delivered. All in all not the best, but not the worst. Could be fantastic if there were a few tweaks here and there and also if the staff did not appear so stressed!
