Had a fantastic day at the Cave and the Arcade. So much to do and see. They also let me stay overnight on the car park in my motorhome which was very generous. Plenty of people there to help and answer questions. Holly was especially welcoming and was a hive of information. Definitely recommended. You won't be disappointed.
After watching The Cave come together on YouTube, being able to visit was a tremendous experience, it was actually bigger than I expected. I got to be hands on with my childhood computers and consoles, saw things I had completely forgotten, and of course, I saw Neil in the flesh! Neil and the other staff members were lovely, knowledgeable, engaging and just made the visit.nnThe arcade session in the afternoon was excellent. This was a chance to play games I have heard of but were not available to me growing up, the atmosphere was brilliant, the music playlist was tremendous!nnI traveled a long way to get there but I am already planning to return!
So so so good. My school mate from back in the day who I took along was blown away by the nostalgia hit. For me, the recreation WH Smith's packed with 80s and 90s goodness is an emotional time machine. I love this place so much.
Wow. 5 stars isn't enough. Amazing venue, packed with as many old consoles, computers, handheld games and books as you could possibly think of plus an untold number of hidden gems and rarely seen items. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Truly an amazing day out. Book now, go have the best time in both the cave and the arcade and tell Neil I sent you
A fantastic place to visit for anyone with even a passing interest in vintage/retro computing. The museum hosts a plethora of old 8- and 16-bit systems, as well as some old PCs for playing old games on such as Carmageddon and Rise of The Triad.nnThe arcade on the ground floor is also a must see, with some truly legendary cabinets in there such as Outrun, Track & Field, and Operation Wolf.nnStaff are super friendly and helpful, and all very knowledgeable about their subject matter. Parking is free, which is always a bonus.nnOverall, a great visit and I can't wait to go again.
