Been looking forward to my visit here for a while. Followed the channel on YouTube for a long time and wanted to see the collective for myself. Didn't disappoint. Neil and Holly were so friendly and knowledgeable. Happy to chat and answer questions. I love that this is a very hands-on experience. I got to try some consoles that I have never used before and also a lot of things here to bring back nostalgia from my youth. Highly recommend you visit here if retro gaming and arcades are your thing. Located in a beautiful area too. Cannot wait to visit again.
Went to the retro archive today....and wow what an experience. Took my son who is 15 and loves everything retro with pacman being a particular favourite. Holly was an amazing host and made time to chat games. Will 100% be back to see the museum soon. Ps...would love the playlist as the music playing was non stop 80s classics perfect for the arcade.
Long time follower of the channel. Finally got a chance to visit the cave and it didn't disappoint. Neil and the team have taken this much further than your standard retro experience. Being able to read the old computer magazines and manuals where we all copied listing and learned to code brought so many memories back and I got to relive one of my earliest memories of modifying a listing with my own code. I loved the old WH smith's complete with period authentic adverts on the TV. Highly recommend a visit, but next time I will take my graph paper.nnLooking forward to some of the plans the team have for the Cave and really hope some more hands on experiences are in the pipeline like being able to play with Big TraknnThe Arcade Archives was a blast and I hope no one beats my high score on Bubble Bobble any time soon!
A great place to visit if you are into retro gaming or just gaming in general. The Cave is full of classic computers, consoles and old handheld games. Neil is an excellent and knowledgeable host and he and his colleagues will go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your visit. Everything that is on display is there to be used. If there is something that you want to try then just ask and they are very likely to have it and will be able to set it up for you. I particularly enjoyed the small recreation of the 80s WH Smith. The system that allows you to play games just by scanning the barcode on the box is a genius idea.nnThe Arcade Archive downstairs is equally good. It does a great job of recreating an arcade from the 80s, with the dim lighting and music from that period playing in the background. They have a good selection of games and the cabs are all in excellent condition so you won't be dealing with dodgy buttons or joysticks.nnThis is a great place to spend a day. Highly recommend.
Absolutely brilliant, if you love retro gaming then you NEED to visit, wonderful and knowledgeable people
