Was running a little short of oil in van in Ballater before a journey across to Nethy Bridge. Arrived just at 5.30pm in fairness cutting it fine to fill up with diesel and buy a small jar of 10w40 oil. Explained our situation and that we had cash to pay for the oil. We’d already just paid at the pump for the diesel, but were simply told “we’re now closed, the next garage is 20 miles in the opposite direction of travel”. Literally 40 seconds would have had us sorted and on our way and they could have kept the change, but instead we were left knowingly in a hanlin. Poor, poor, poor.
Very disappointed. Yesterday we had another mechanic have a look at my car to discover the wrong breaks had been put on… this garage also broke the locking wheel nut key and didn’t suggest to help us at all only that we use a hammer to bash it on.. we’ve spent £1000 with this garage to discover not much has been done. Thought they had done us a really good deal but actually they really had not…
Useful petrol station. Especially the 24hr pumps. Saved me from driving to the next town. It took a bit of trial and error, but eventually got the terminal working and filled up OK.
At very short notice the team managed to fit us in and examine our car after it sprang an oil leak. Lovely people and very helpful.
Can’t thank George and the team enough. We were on a family holiday when our brakes failed, and with an extremely heavily pregnant wife this had to be remedied immediately. The guys took the car in straight away and the parts delivered and the car repaired within 24 hours. Outstanding service and very well priced. If I lived locally this would be my regular garage. Thanks again.
Being on a hill-walking holiday, with a prompt start needed, I was worried by my slow puncture. I phoned Riverside at 8.10 and was told to "bring it round and we'll have a look". By 8.55 I was on my way! In 45 minutes my tyre had been repaired, I had had my leg pulled about the price - which was in fact very reasonable indeed - learnt a little bit about the local history and enjoyed the company of friendly and good-natured staff. Some places are "can do" but this is "WILL DO". Superb in all ways and very highly recommended.

Unmanned so had to use card authorised pump which didn't produce a receipt.
Good price for diesel, especially considering how far from anywhere else the place is.
Attempted to use 24Hr facility to refuel vehicle. Didn't work!
