Clean and fun place but unfortunately 'everything' appears to be rigged. All the grabber games where the children try to win soft toys by picking them up with a grabber, and there's about 25 of them, are rigged in that when you've successfully grabbed the toy and it looks like you're going to win, it suddenly drops it at the top, so it's impossible to ever get anything. I've got a video of it but have been unable to upload it so far. Additionally the 2p machines, seem to have several mechanisms to prevent much of a win, including coins being shifted down some kind of side chute you can hear it dropping coins, stepped sweepers, and worse of all when someone finishes playing a staff member then opens up the machine and reshuffles all the coins out creating large spaces etc so the next person has to build up all the coins again to get even a small hope of a few 2ps dropping down Additionally many of the arcade machines either didn't credit correctly when putting the money in, or lasted about 30 seconds before it asked for more credit. Generally though, the children had great fun there as they're obviously not aware of all the annoying cheats that the arcade are using. Also note, there's no toilets there, and the staff are Eastern European so it makes it very difficult to sort out any issues although the male member of staff was very good and a very nice guy.
Went In today as it was raining, used to have a lot of fun in here spend hours and come out with a pocket full of key rings and sweets.. Today Nothing not even a 2p came out of the machines it all seemed to be pushed to the sides and you could here it all falling. Seemed like the machines were rigged and as soon as you walked away a member of staff would open it up and reset the coins, I'm sure there is supposed to be some sort of return percentage, seems like there set to zero. Wont be going in there again, just gonna get myself an umbrella would cheaper..
Wouldn't bother. Machines are rigged put £6 of 2ps in one machine and got nothing back as all the coins go down the sides. There's a bar at the edge where the coins drop that's been set so high the coins can't fall out as winnings except stack up and go down the stairs. Repeated in a few more 2p machines as I thought maybe it was just one but there all set like it. A nice evening spoilt. Staff are rude as a child one a lolly after a good 10 minutes putting 2ps in for it to fall down and not come out and he got angry and aggressive with the parent who questioned where it went. I've been to many an arcade but this was bar far the worst with literally no return.
Don't bother. We were worried one of the coin machines was damaged because it was juddering and banging and the attendant/staff member we called over to have a look stated that it was normal, it's to stop you winning. Waste of money, better amusements in the holiday park we stayed at
Got short changed by £1 from one of their change machines. I told the assistant who clearly thought she was a supermodel and could thus try and dismiss my presense as some unwanted annoyance before I even spoke to her. I persisted and she eventually gave me the pound back as if it's no surprise that it hapened. She then walked off, as if my situation had caused some great angst in her life, which she clearly thought was was not part of her job description. Comically poor customer service! Ha ha. It's clear there are some poorly maintained machines there and it doesn't help when getting an attitude from the staff. Bizzare. I won 8 pence on the slider machine BTW- good times!
If you like staff that really couldn't care less, broken machines, and like to wait 20 minutes for a £1 refund, then this is the place to go. The other arcade in Looe is owned by the same people, but at least one he staff there are front of house people with a smile and a purpose, unlike the zombies that run this one
Horrendous.. all 2p machines rigged. They all go down the sides so u don't get any. And also the staff go back round pushing all the toys to the back of the machines again. Staff look miserable. My daughter spent ages to get a keyring for me as a gift. It fell down the side she went to ask if they could get it out and rudely said no! She had spent so much to try and get this keyring too! IfI could give minus stars I would.
Don't expect to at least get some 2p's back when on the 2p machines, completely rigged. Not only does the money fall down the sides, watched workers constantly pushing the money down the sides when it was bunched up on the edge. Let alone watching them push back the toys and clips with £5 notes further back when people stopped playing.
The grabbers are 10p a go which is pretty good to be honest. They don't grab too well but well enough to be able to flip them over the barrier. 2ps have good prizes but staff constantly moving prizes back. I'd put afew quid into one, went to get more 2ps and came back and staff were already moving the one back. I insisted it to be moved to where it was, staff weren't happy, but moved it back. I had fun so 3 stars.
Absolute despicable arcade. My child spent a good amount of money on the 2p machines. The staff watched over him waiting for him to finish, just so they could put the toys right at the back of the machine! There is another arcade near all the shops. I would advise to go to that arcade as it's much better and didn't witness any staff move the toys back. Never will I be returning to this arcade if I come back to Looe. Joke of an arcade!
