Picked up Puffin river taxi at Exmouth dock. Staff great. Transfer to cafe was fun. Staff at cafe very efficient and polite. Food was superb and we all loved it. Great location for a special meal. Highly recommend for special occasion
A perfect day to remember! We had an amazing experience, fantastic food, great service and we were so lucky to have sunshine in the evening to top it off! Really smooth trip out on the water taxi and pancake flat sea on the return. We had the ceviche for starters and gnocchi, mussels and fish of the day sea bass today and we’d recommend them all : We hope we can come back soon!
What a fabulous place to visit! Absolutely lived up to my expectations. Weather a bit changeable to say the least but River taxi ride in Puffin went very smoothly, although our dogs a little unsure about being in the boat But arrived without mishap and taken to our lovely table in the cosy warmth of the cafe. Very well looked after and enjoyed every dish we were served. Timing worked perfectly and our return trip on Puffin ran like clockwork, dodging the rain to get us safely back to the Marina in good time for our booked taxi AJ's. Would definitely recommend, although it is definitely priced for a special occasion, rather than a regular meal out, but just the ambiance makes any visit there a special occasion ‍
Absolute food heaven. Perfectly cooked food, packed with flavour in a quirky atmosphere. Added excitement of the water taxi to the restaurant and back again makes this a night to remember. Never disappointed and can't wait to go back.
Super visit. Great pick up and drop off. Lovely staff and a great evening experience and all food coming out look good. The hake fish and chips was lovely
Cafe with a view like none other. Situated in the middle of the river Exe mouth the place offers a unique dinning experience - soaking up the stunning scenery while enjoying some great food. Food and drink are very good, with good selection of local produce, being in the middle of an estuary it specialises in seafood and doesn’t disappoint. Staff are really friendly.
After 3 weeks in Devon on this current staycation, we visited River Exe in our first week, and still easily the best meal we’ve had in the area. The whole experience - boat ride, dining experience, food and service were excellent, the food especially. Everything about this made it an evening to remember- would 100% return, even if it’s a bit pricey, as a treat/special occasion, would highly recommend!
My neice and I arrived and unfortunately I had felt unwell towards the end of the boat trip. The staff were fantastic setting up a table out on the deck in the shade. Their caring attitude continued the whole time we were there. After a while I was able to order food and it was excellent. The boat trip back was fine - a memorable day. Thank you.
Pulled up with some mates on their boat. Not being here before I wandered in and asked for a table. The waitress was more salty than the estuary and told me in no uncertain terms I had zero chance. Well ok, you're popular good for you I'm really glad. But being nice doesn't cost anything. I had some of my mates chips and they were nice - but put off basically.
Amazing restaurant and food. The location, services and dishes are just fabulous! Great views especially at sunset and the staff is very helpful, warm and professional. One of the best sea food restaurants we've experienced in a long time. The Thai mussels and their sharer platter are just divine! Can't wait to go back!Food: 5/5
