Story

Rick, Jill and the family are delighted and proud to have opened our new restaurant at Tideway Yard, Mortlake High Street, Barnes – formerly known as The Depot.

Guests can enjoy some of Rick’s most iconic dishes such as the Dover sole a la meunière and salt and pepper prawns as well as a selection of new dishes including stifado, a rabbit stew inspired by Rick’s travels to Greece, with caramelised onions, red wine, cinnamon and currants. Alongside the a la carte menu, we’ll also offer a set lunch menu available Monday to Friday.

Really nice food, the simple dishes are so well done, and the service was first rate and relaxed for a lunchtime. Try and get a River view seat if you can. Hake was amazing and the Sticky Toffee Pudding made you want to lick the plate.
We were told that they had run out of lobster, however, the table next to us was later told that there were 2 left. The food was surprisingly disappointing. Minimal crab in the linguine, Dover Sole was too buttery, Monkfish was good, however, there was no garlic in the accompaniment, it just tasted like fennel. Overall a very disappointing experience in what was supposed to be a celebration meal.
Fantastic Saturday evening spent at Rick Stein, Barnes with family. The food was delicious - I had scallops for starter and Indonesian seafood curry. The staff were fantastic and made us feel welcome and not rushed even with us arriving late. The table was next to the river so had a lovely view. Would definitely recommend.
