A beautiful traditional Green in the centre of Richmond situated just behind the high street. It is surrounded by beautiful period house and buildings and tree. It's the perfect place to take time away from the hustle and bustle of life to relax. On any lovely warm sunny day you will find people relaxing on the green, it can get busy, but not overly so that you won't be able to find a place to sit or stroll. During summer weekends you will often see a game of cricket being played in the center of the green, it really is a step back in time. Richmond Theatre is also located just along and across from the end of the green and the green itself is connected to the high street via quaint little alleyways filled with many independent shops and food outlets selling artisan produce. This makes the green perfect for a picnic or a lunch time haven if you work in the area.

Beautiful, pretty little green. It resides next to the river and also has a gate entrance on the river side of the green. The perimeter is enclosed safely , so is a good area to take small children and dogs. Reletivly lot up area at night so again good for evenings playing fetch with dogs. No excuse for litter or none poop pick up as they have bins there and it is a nice clean area.

Pros: Nice place to have a picnic. There are a few restaurants and shops nearby. Cons: The green gets busy if the weather is nice.

A lovely green space in Richmond. It has no facilities - just a big open space. So bring your own picnic - might be able to get drinks from a couple of pubs at the southwest corner, but I don't know if you'll be able to take them on to the green. Richmond May fair is held in this space with lots of stalls, shops, food and a funfair. Great fun for the family if the weather holds up.

That's right ladies and gentlemen, it's a green in Richmond - a pocket of tranquility in South West London, just a few minutes walk from Richmond train station, it's surrounded by pubs and shopping/restaurants on one side, and beautiful Georgian houses on the other side. A great place to come to relax or have a picnic. The river is 2 mins walk away too and for those of you that like the TV show "That Mitchell and Webb Look", the regular sketch they do of the detective tramp "Sir Digby Chicken Caesar" 🕵️ is filmed by one of the benches besides the Richmond theatre 😊
