Competent mechanic. Good and polite back office functions / receptionists. Mechanic needs to work on his interpersonal skills. Noteworthy that this is reflected in some of the other reviews. I note the reply written below. This is odd as it does not relate to my vehicle and I did not request the fitting of any of my own parts. I simply had my brakes repaired which the garage supplied. The reply rather insinuates that I, the customer, made unreasonable requests. This is not the case. I simply dropped a vehicle off and had it repaired. The comments relating to the interpersonal skills of the garage owner stand and are perhaps even more relevant my having noted and addressed this reply.
Had my car serviced by these guys. Very happy with the service provided. Will be using them again for sure.
I went for a mot at this garage over a week ago now my car failed on few bulbs and shocks and parking brake so i asked for a quote and it was getting into the 1000s so i thought ill look somewhere else lucky i did as my hand break only needed redoing and my shocked had nothings wrong with them took it for the next mot and passed. With the same shocks what "needed doing" just thought i could scam me
When I booked in my Motorhome for a repair and MOT my first impression of Richard was of a diligent and experienced business owner. As a business owner I understand that there are times when your problems impact on your customers and handling them is opportunity to impress or upset. After a delay in receiving a written quotation, further delays in doing the job, delays in letting me know about progress. I asked if he was prepared to give a small discount in recognition of the delays and not insignificant costs having been without my vehicle for the extended time. I was told in no uncertain terms: "No, that's the price". I am sure Richard is an honest man as so far I have no reason to doubt his skills as a mechanic. But as I suggested to the gentleman at reception, a small token to apologies would have gone a long way placate a customers dissatisfaction, even if had not been the reimbursement of £200< for accommodation I had to spend last weekend as no motorhome as there should have been. Some may be surprised that I have given as many as 3 stars. This is not a sour grapes review and I hope it is received in a way that helps Richard and his business in the future, despite my still great disappointment. Mark Follow on to reply. Really!! The rescue company would have taken me anywhere local to my location or nearer home. I called you on the Wednesday morning around 0930 you said you could not do the MOT until the following day. I called you back 20 mins later and booked it in for the MOT & repair. On arrival time expectation was set by you. The fact that the MOT had not been renewed was a mistake by another garage a matter I have taken up with them. There was little point is taking it elsewhere when you had promised to get the job done. As you stated another job came in which you priorities over mine and you also had staff issues. Your penultimate statement is superfluous and antagonistic, do consider retracting it.
Richard's is a place where you can go with complete confidence that they won't rip you off. I have had my 6-cyl Audi A6 and my 3.0 V6 Jaguar HF serviced here for years. Never felt anything but full satisfaction. I know a fair bit about cars, but they always tell me, without pushing, if there is something I haven't noticed. Nice guys too!
These guys did the Mot.They know what they are about.l shall be going back for them to look after my London Taxi. They are friendly helpful and very fair priced.
Great service, would 100 % recommend!
