Me and the wife thought we would save on the washing up and cooking and pop out to our local spoons in brighouse. You know what to expect when you enter a weatherspoons, reasonable food at affordable prices and a great selection of drinks. We settled on a mixed grill and a tuna Panini with some extra onion rings and a couple of pints of Budweiser. The food came in under 15 minutes and was cooked well and tasted good. There were a few rowdy people in there who looked and sounded like they had been there all day but I found it more amusing than annoying. It wasn't the cleanest with quite a few tables with empty plates and glasses but eventually they were tidied up. Overall we will obviously go back as we got exactly what we expected. Good drinks and good food for the little we spent
Our go to for family and couples meals, great quality food for a brilliant price. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff are brilliant and always on hand to deal with questions promptly and calmly with lovely customer service skills with every customer interaction. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Parking: Paid parking outside is available, or a short walk from market streets paid carpark or Sainsbury's. Kid-friendliness: Lovely kids menu along with activty sheets and crayons. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access outside with easy to access disabled toilet.
I'm definitely a Spoony! But this was is above and beyond. A fabulous conversion from what looks like a galleried chapel/ meeting house. Very tasteful, as are the beers and food. It was a visit during Brighouse 1940's Day. The staff immersed themselves in the roll. A joyous day, without a doubt. Score: 1940 out of 10 Food: 5/5
This place the building itself is one to admire the outside architecture plus inside has amazing features I think what spoons has done with this place is amazing no future added design kept it all with its historic design plus amazing ceiling painting s plus the organ features really makes the place look good. This place is a really good meeting place the service at the bar or on the spoons app so during the week it’s full of oaps plus benefits British but who can blame them for the price cheap has chips to sit down plus drink or even have a meal .The food I have eaten at this place a few times some times the food can be really good or some times just average but you can’t fault the staff the prices are really good for what ya get but the toilets depending on time or day can be a let down but I guess you can’t blame the staff for the cliental not being able to put toilet paper in the right area . The staff have been very pleasant over the years it’s never the same but always polite . The seating is very open but they have a snug at the back which is just mint
Friday night, not very busy. Staff were just a bit rude. Understand that Spoons are leaning towards APP and table service. However no need for rudeness if you walk to the bar. Still like Spoons for beer as always good, however staff are letting the brand down.Service: 1/5
Been in here a few times. Quite like the place. It's split in two with a nice bright bar area, with high ceilings, a couple of booths down one side. The back room part feels more closed off, again, with some booths available. Usual quality and selection of ales and food.
Went for food me and my partner was quite busy. Food times we didn't wait long at all. The service was brilliant very attentive and nothing was too much for them lobe the staff they can have a laugh.Food: 5/5
Great pub with reasonably priced drinks and food. If there's a queue at the bar you can order via the app and get your drinks brought to your table. Food is always good quality and quickly served. Staff friendly, polite and professional. Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian options on the menu
This is a regular for me whenever I'm in Brighouse as the food is great value and always top quality. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the overall atmosphere and clients are very easy going.Food: 5/5
This is a nice place to go and there has been some recent refurbishment of the chapel ceiling. ... If you are a first time visitor, look upwards when you go inside. I went there for the first time and my mum said she wasn't happy with the new, simpler painted design but still, it's really pretty. There is plenty of information available about the building's history and framed articles are dotted around the walls some of which could do with a good clean tbh. The decor is very dated and a bit dingy in places but that adds to its charm. Access is fairly good with a long structural ramp up to the entrance. Two 'disabled persons' toilets are to the left from the front entrance, whilst regular toilets are accessed across the room after you walk down a long corridor these are also quite spacious, well, I only went to the ladies.. What I saw was very clean and in good order. Now, as we went there for a late lunch, I should rate the food... Firstly, the choice on the menu is good and the prices, as you might expect for Wetherspoons are affordable. Considering Wetherspoons food is not prepared onsite, but reheated - and therefore produced for that purpose, it has potential to be consistent as well as satisfactory. However, each dish we ordered was very much overheated and very dry. In the most 'British' way, we politely availed ourselves of the condiments available and made sure we ate all the salad. My favourite part was my hot drink, so just for fun I videoed it coming from the machine. Tip: get the decaff version, then you won't get wired from caffeine, though it is pretty sugary. This is my impression as a first time visitor and I do not live locally. I got the impression that it was a decent, friendly place to go but it just do happened that whoever was dealing with our food in the kitchen that day could do with some further training and the food we had really wasn't good. That is why I only have three stars.
