We came for a meal a couple of days ago on Wednesday Steak night - Lovely restaurant, great for a cosy couples meal out The starters were great and just the right size, really good range of cocktails to choose from and very nice! We went for the tomahawk steak cooked rare and it was amazing! The fat was like butter and the cut was tender and the prefect size for two - Will be going back
Amazing food and a great service. It’s small tapas like dishes, so if you’re in the mood to try lots of different things then this is the right place for you between two people you’ll need roughly eight or so plates. Definitely try the prawns, they are out of this world tasty. And they also make great cocktails!
High quality, fancy as well as luxurious place. From the outside it seems like a casual place but once you walk in you see and feel the exclusive side of it. The staff treats you with as a valuable customer and looks after you. While we were waiting waiter offered us homemade crumpets which is a plus for the restaurant. The food tasted outstanding a specially a dessert. It’s a perfect place for a lovely date or take someone for a special meal. Prices wise you would be looking at around £30 per person. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and it deserves the 5 stars.
Don't let the decor put you off it looks a bit tired when you 1st go in . But the staff are absolutely lovely and the food is amazing . Drinks menu is great with cocktails, beers and nice wines. Really looking forward to trying Sunday lunch .
Amazing food, excellent drinks and super lovely staff! We’ve been to Hyssop a few times now and each time it has been great. The staff really go the extra mile to make it a lovely evening. We tried the set menu deal for £25 on Weds/Thurs which was really good value. Would highly recommend!
Kind, friendly staff and a really relaxed atmosphere for dinner. The food was good, though at similar prices to London small plate restaurants, it could have offered better value for portion size. The cocktail list was lacking in some classics - they seem to add a lot of sweetness/syrups to most options.
This is our go to place for a great dining experience. From the moment you walk through the door nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely love the small plates menu which has a fantastic mix of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes. The cocktails are to die for and the wine list is comprehensive. I can't wait to go back.
Staff were brilliant from booking to welcome to end of meal. Food was really good we went for the tasting menu. Wine offering was very poor considering the food on offer. To be fair the staff said this is under review and a new wine list is coming soon. Overall will definitely be back again.
Great food - interesting and tasty dishes. I'm not really into fine dining so thought the prices were a bit high. Lovely atmosphere and service. Vegetarian options: The menu is good but small. If you have a large appetite you'll probably eat most in one visit as the restaurant style is towards a taster menu. Very limited for vegans.
Just been in for the small plates experience, the food was fantastic. I was a little bit confused at first about ordering but the staff were truly fantastic. I cannot recommend this wonderful restaurant enough, GO , you won’t be disappointed. Congratulations team Hyssop.
