Lovely old fashioned cinema. Lovely staff, great prices for this current economy. Have been a good few times and always enjoy it. There's an interval in the middle of the film where they come to the front with ice cream. A lovely cinema taking you back in time.
Visited The Regent Cinema last night to watch Back to Black. This is a gorgeous old-school type cinema, with friendly staff and they also have an interval selling ice cream. I love it here and have visited many times before. I would highly recommend it.
First opened in 1931, the Regent is an absolute gem of a cinema. Attractive and comfortable with very friendly staff. Lovely to have an interval to get an ice cream tub. Extremely good ticket value.
Feel sad having to write this review but had the worst experience at the Regent cinema. Booked tickets for myself and parents as a birthday treat and arrived around 7:20 for a 7:45 showing. My dad is in a wheelchair and when I entered the cinema to ask how to access, the man was extremely rude and made me feel like it was a huge inconvenience. The owner opened a side door a few minutes later and put down a ramp probably took 3 mins and also made us feel that we weren’t welcome and had put them all out. It ruined the day and upset my dad. Note that there were only about 10 people in the queue who were kind and helpful and I’m sure didn’t mind waiting 3 minutes for a ramp . I would not recommend this cinema for anyone in a wheelchair and would definitely not recommend it given how we were made to feel.
Great atmosphere in this vintage cinema. You will get an interval to enjoy ice-cream in the middle of the movie as well. Popcorn and selection of beverages is available to buy as well.
Lovely atmosphere, real feel of going back into past. Comfortable seats. Charge decent prices for chocolate and sweets. My favourite cinema in the area
Visited tonight with the better half and we absolutely loved it! We’ll be returning to watch all our films here. Thank you for making this place so wonderful and authentic!
Brilliant little cinema, both the film and the snacks are a fraction of the price you'd pay at most cinemas.
