Recently restored after several years of lying abandoned and it is very well done. A great old boating lake with boats for hire including a small fleet of electric boats (such as "Boaty McBoatface"). Great for taking a slow spin around the lake with the kids. The island in the lake (accessible via a bridge with flights of steps) hosts other attractions such as water based Zorbs and trampolines. The cafe provides excellent coffees & teas and baked treats & cakes.
The whole site, which is free to enter, is sunken and walled to reduce the effects of the wind off the sea. However, combined with it being originally built many years ago, the site is not wheelchair accessible. The cafe does have a toilet with baby changing facilities and there is road based pay parking for cars. And, of course, the beach.
