This is my favourite campsite I have ever been to! We parked our van in an incredible spot next to the river, with spectacular views of the mountains and loved the sound of the water lulling us to sleep. The facilities are fairly basic but have everything you need, including lovely hot showers - do note if you are bringing a van there are no electric hook ups though. The staff were friendly, the campsite has very peaceful and you can have a campfire. Heaven. There is also a lovely pub you can walk to down the road. Magical place and we'll remember our night there forever, hope we can come back!
I definitely understand why it gets mentioned in a few places as one of the best campsites in the Highlands. Amazing campsite, I can't recommend enough! It's located in a beautiful valley surrounded by stunning mountains. The campsite itself is fantastically planned out with lots of different areas to choose from for your tent/camper to allow for more or less privacy. The toilets and showers are clean. And most importantly the staff there are super nice, helpful and welcoming. I will be back :
Great location, beautiful scenery of mountains, waterfalls ans rivers! Great place to switch off and explore the area, the pub 15 min walk away was a fun spot. Staff were really friendly, check in was easy but the facilities let the place down - the gents showers were never fully clean, washing up site wasn’t always tidy either. If the site had more facilities for the amount of campers it’d be a 5* review! :
Had a brilliant stay here a couple of months ago. Friendly staff, good facilities and what a location! My car broke down and the guys on site chatted away to us, made sure our phones were charged and provided coffee and biscuits! while we waited on the recovery guys. Will definitely be back, sitting by the river with an evening beer taking in the views is a great way to spend your time.
Cannot speak highly enough of this campsite, the staff & the facilities. We stayed for four nights, returning today & loved it so much we are checking our schedules to book further dates. Fantastic location with lots of walks & river swimming. The facilities are immaculate with Scottish soaps/diffusers & a handy basket with feminine hygiene products. Brilliant idea! The staff are so accommodating & friendly. My partner is diabetic, one of the staff noticed his insulin pump & kindly offered any extra assistance if needed. Another member of staff gave us some birdseed for our daughter. Another extra touch which made our stay an experience to remember. The site itself is like a magical warren of little camping spaces, within the trees, next to the river. The logs on site are also smashing, we were going to bring our own but didn’t have space. No need! We took our bell tent & had ample room next to our campfire. Very child & dog friendly. Great friendly vibe from all the other campers. We can’t wait to come back folks. Thank you again for such a fantastic experience.
Lovely campsite! We hooked our tent up next to the river and made a campfire next to it. It's a big campsite but because of the multiple small areas you don't notice. During the weekends they have a food truck with dinner and breakfast which was great and tasty. An ice-cream truck also came by both nights we stayed. The owners were very nice and helpful, they also gave us some tips and a map of the hike up the pap of glencoe, which was a great hike. We would definitely recommend this campsite and would have stayed longer if we could!
Tranquil location, pitches well spaced and private was quiet when we stayed but may be different during peak season, site is plenty big enough though. Facilities were OK, showers and toilets clean. Staff friendly and laid back. Would be the perfect place to relax for a few days as a retreat. Only 'less than ideal' point not necessarily a negative is the lack of lights on the site. Walking to the toilet at night in the pitch dark dodging the puddles was a challenge. Will remember a torch for next time! All in all, would visit again.
One of my favourite campsites in Scotland. I have been coming here for 8 years with my daughter. If you are a single parent looking for somewhere to take your child/children then I 100% recommend Red squirrel campsite. Beautiful location, that adults and children love. The new owners are very friendly, and it's nice to see the care they have put into the site.
We chose the best possible place to break down. The battery on our camper died and we were assisted by the friendly and extremely knowledgeable Dale who did not quit until we were back on the road. Lovely place too with a great pub nearby. Recommend 100%
Just spent 3 nights here and this is a great family campsite in the most beautiful location. Facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very helpful and helped make our stay after previous holiday plans fell through. we will absolutely be returning!
