All the food we had was absolutely fantastic. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to go back again!! Well Done Team Red Lion Food: 5/5
Large public bar with a good selection of beers and wine at reasonable prices. Ideal for watching sports. There is a reasonable menu similar to a diner. At the rear is a beer garden.
Recently, I had an 80th meal here for my dad with over 20 people. We were allowed to decorate the tables etc & the staff bent over backward to accommodate this. The food was amazing & all the parties were very happy with it too. The service was great as the staff dealt with all our food & drink orders. The ambiance in here was lovely, as was the aesthetics. The food & drink prices are very reasonable. A very warm welcome awaits at the Red Lion & I totally recommend it for lunches, dinners, or just for drinks. I will most definitely be back as the rump steak I had just melted & was delicious. The only smidgen of criticism I could say was that I'd rather have had steak chips instead of skinny fries with it, but that's just a personal choice of mine. Anyone visiting the Red Lion will most definitely not be disappointed. Thanks again for an amazing night. Vegetarian options: There was a vegan in my party & she found it a bit harder to order something to suit her. There are a few vegetarian options. Kid-friendliness: Kids are most welcome here & they have high chairs for toddlers. Parking: Parking is to the rear of the pub & it's surfaced with loose stones, which might make it slightly difficult for some patrons. It's free to park if you're using the facilities & it's quite large too. There is a well lit, covered entrance at the back of the pub where the car park is. There is an entrance at the front from the main road, which also suits all patrons. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access at the front & back of the pub.
Popped in to The Red Lion for late lunch and the food was delicious. I had the mac and cheese which was definitely homemade and the best I've ever tasted. Staff were lovely and the beer garden allowed us to enjoy the sunshine too. Would highly recommend.
The food here is fairly typical for pub food. I feel like the quality of the food has dropped a bit over time. I went in for lunch for the first time in quite a while and was surprised to see the quality of the lunch was higher than the dinner offerings even though the menu is nearly identical. Recommend you make a reservation as the place can be very crowded any day of the week and you may have difficulty getting seated in the restaurant.
Went with my husband and 2 wee girls on Sunday. Luckily we had booked as the place was really busy when we arrived. Ashley, our server was absolutely brilliant with our 2 wee girls amd made my oldest feel so special. Food was lovely and we will definitely be back. Kid-friendliness: The servers were brilliant with our 5 and 1 year old girls by engaging them in conversation and getting them a special cocktail glass for their juice. Our server even anticipated our needs by offering ice cubes for the wee ones soup.
Excellent value for money and friendly staffFood: 5/5
One of the servers was extremely rude, even though I tried to get out of ber way in an extremely busy area near the bar, I got a "I need to get in there" sneered at me, I told her that I had tried to get out of her way but obviously chose the wrong place to move too, so she threatened to have me thrown out, I'd only been in 10 minutes and was completely sober. I understand that the bar was very busy, almost impossible to do table service really, but at the end of the day, you kept letting people in, and I unfortunately managed to get in her way and copped her wrath, I don't take to kindly to being talked to like a piece of garbage.
My wife booked tonight for my birthday with family. Great service by super friendly staff Kieran and ashley I think hope I’m not wrong? Food beautifully presented and cooked x very busy tonight, but nothing too much trouble x thanks guys x
Decent pub grub, with good service. We had a slight issue with our drinks order which was rectified quickly with good customer service applied.
