Staff polite, lovely quiet restaurant and food always good. Plenty of parking, seating available outside plus cozy fireplace for a cold evening. Fajitas delicious, mixed grill really tasty and Eton mess to finish. Only markdown was because we tried to get plates taken away for 40minutes but ignored. Will return though
My favourite place to eat when visiting my family in Shrewsbury. The food is delicious but they always seem to be short staffed which is a shame. It's always busy & seems very popular.Food: 5/5
Not local but often call in with family for some food when visiting. Very good priced mains, the 2 for 11.50 are limited but most people find something off there. Very well cooked meat and the chips are excellent. Don't always have desserts as they're almost as pricey as a main but very nice eton mess sundaes. Decent choice of a pint. Overall good value everyone is pleased at. No longer close the kitchen for a random period in the afternoon.
Very reasonably priced, food is of amazing quality and lots to chose from. Also an excellent selection of alcohol. Jan was very friendly, as was the rest of the staff. Can't wait to come back.Food: 5/5

Our meals , timing and service were fine for us. I think other people were having problems with food not coming as quick as they thought it should . Can't be 100% sure but I think the people on the table to our left walked out and the food arrived at an empty table . The menu had a QR code for a free drink, I scanned it and tried on my app and the server behind the bar couldn't sort it either! Parking: Always lots of spaces.
Nice cosy atmosphere. Christmas lights were smart. Fast polite service. Food was decent and had a really good feed for the money which was well presented. I would definitely use again.Food: 5/5
Recently visited the Red Lion to redeem a gift voucher. This influenced my choice of visit. Without wishing to denigrate this establishment. My Wife and myself, ordered two, three course meals. I would refer to it as classic " Pub Grub" My appraisal is made in this context. We both ordered three course meals. The quality of all three was highly acceptable. The service was good. All meals were served promptly and the staff were pleasant and polite. After eating three courses. I felt well fed. The bill for two three course meals, two pints and a couple of soft drinks, totalled £48.00. I felt that considering what we had just consumed was very reasonable . Although the dining area was relatively full. There was a nice relaxing atmosphere in the pub and my experience was very enjoyable. It was evident to see that venue had suffered a bit from the circumstances of the last two years and that the staff were working hard to catch up. Whilst not a criticism, its a sign of the times and sad to see how many pubs have suffered. To conclude my visit to Red Lion was enjoyable and something that I would be very happy to repeat soon. They deserve all the support that they can get. It will be on my list of places to revisit.
Interesting variety of dishes, amazingly good prices, quick service from pleasant staff, definitely revommend and return. Well situated on main route with plenty of parking. 5 adults 2courses drinks and coffee just over £20 each. Brilliant value! Kid-friendliness: Affordable for families and lots of kids dining Parking: On the main road plenty of well spaced parking
Came here for a meal, wasn't disappointed. Food was lovely, the cheesy chips were excellent as was the burger and Chinese belly pork. The Eaton mess sundae was massive!! Very friendly staff , Ryan was excellent! Kid-friendliness: Kids menu - good menu
