We came upon the Red Lion completely by chance, having visited the distillery nearby and then doing a Google search for somewhere to eat. We arrived mid-service for Sunday lunch, with no reservation and a large dog in tow. They went out of their way to find a table for us, as long as we didn't mind waiting a little while. And boy, was the food worth waiting for! The starters and puddings on the menu sounded amazing, so we ended up eating a full 3 course Sunday lunch well, we were on holiday! which was every bit as good as it looked. We'd heartily recommend the Red Lion if you're in the Penderyn area, and we'll certainly be back if we're ever nearby again!
We stopped here for lunch whilst family members toured the Penderyn distillery. We had a seat by the fire and it was just lush. The food we ordered looked amazing. I have a nut allergy and advised of this and had no issues ordering and it was delicious! One star off for service as we did order an additional item that was never brought to us. It didn't affect the overall experience though and would definitely return.
What a truly lovely place. Food was fab. Staff were great. Will definitely be back to try the pizza in the Little Lion outside. Husband had chicken roast, friend had Rare beef roast which he said was lovely, my friend and I had Fish of the Day which was Plaice. A lovely dinner out. Loved the Pino Grigio Rose tooFood: 5/5
Haven't visited the Red Lion since the middle of lockdown. Won't leave it so long until the next time. Fantastic Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was great. It was toasty warm as the log fire was going strong. We had a great welcome and a nice table. The starters. Pumpkin soup with Creme fraiche and bread and seared Squid with Pumpkin and quite a bit of spice in both were fab. The best bit was the main event. The lamb was cooked rare and was so tender you hardly needed to chew it. The chicken was moist and tasty. The rest of the roast lunch couldn't be faulted. Perfect mash, roasties, veg and cauliflower cheese. A great yorkshire pudding and we had extra gravy. It was delicious!!! I had rice pudding with poached pear and puffed rice for dessert and it was really creamy and flavourful. It was my birthday and we couldn't have picked a better place for lunch.
Cute place, best lamb I have ever had and the best service! The ciders are pretty awesome as well. Love it and will hope to be back again!
Lovely meal packed full of flavours, textures and food styles I'm not familiar with. The venue was busy for a dinner meal which is a good sign. Also quite pricey but great place to impress and friend or loved one. Very narrow lanes to access and in the middle of nowhere so must be able to drive. Good parking on site. Beautiful pub/restaurant with old traditional features and feel.
Food was amazing and tasted beautiful, very cosy place, staff very friendly and have outstanding customer service. Will definitely be returning xx
Although couldn't seat us for lunch with it being Sunday and Father's day we decided to take a look at what the Little lion was offering. Wood fire pizzas. They really hit the spot.
Lovely menu and food. Friendly Staff. Only not 5 stars because it was very slow. Short staffed and kinda busy. Delicious Sweetcorn Velouté. Very good everything.
Dinner for two adults and two children. It was a wonderful meal with a creative menu and great wine list. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was excellent, attentive and efficient. Portions were generous and tasty. Will be back.
