Nice and quiet. We got their last room available for the night. Very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Pillows were fluffy and soft. All white sheets Service was amazing, and we threw jokes, and talked about the town. Being raised there made conversation easy. All around great experience.
My reservation was not listed with them even though I showed my email confirmation to the less than enthusiastic front desk clerk. I spent an hour waiting to see if I even had a room with them...I should've left when I had the chance. The hotel is clean enough and the room was mediocre at best. The heater barely worked in the room and even set at the highest level I could not get warm. The bed had a blanket with a sheet over it as a comforter and didn't provide much relief from the cold. After a long sleepless night and no coffee maker in the room, I had to make the long trip to the front to deal with a rude front desk clerk to be directed to the cold coffee and horrible continental breakfast. I wish I had read the other reviews on here before I booked the room but I thought it was the the same great place it had been years before. Highly Do Not Recommend!!!
Stayed an overnight while visiting family. Close by the mall and movie theaters and an easy on off from the freeway. The service was great! We had a problem with our room and they switched us right away to another option despite the hotel being full. The pool, while outside, is big with a hot tub and kiddie pool right next to it. There are lounge chairs and a porch swing to watch the kiddos if your not in the mood to get in yourself. The breakfast is typical free hotel fair. Biggest complaint honestly was that everything was just outdated. It was like we had taken a step back into the early '90s with rose pink blinds and old utilitarian carpets.
We booked online and when we showed up after a bit of a wait at the front desk for the checking in lady we were told there were no rooms available as their cleaners had not cleaned them that day. We was told there were 2 rooms they thought were clean but we had to wait until another lady checked them. We were able to get a room and 1 other group behind us got there room but everyone else got turned away. Not the might managers fault but still a very stressful situation when yiu book 3rd party and can't get a refund. The rooms were very spacious but there was black pet/people hair all over the beds, the carpets and cloth chair were terribly dirty. No coffee pot in the rooms. Beds were not terrible. breakfast was served and looked good but we didn't eat. Our first night staying in this hotel chain. I wouldn't discourage staying here as it's hard to run a business with help or lack of help these days but not agreed overall experience at this particular location.
Our room was disgusting dirty and the sink non functional. The customer service desk had other people saying the same thing. There was garbage and tools in the room, I’ll spare you a picture of the unwashed, un flushed toilet. The staff tried their best and did what they could. No staff for the restaurant or bar so they are both closed. We were informed that we may get a hot breakfast I’d the cook shows up. I wish their pricing reflected the conditions. If there was an option for zero or negative stars I would give that.
Like many of the reviews this hotel shows signs of poor management and even worse cleaning and maintenance. Front desk girl was helpful but that's it. Checked into my room after a long day of work looking forward a hot shower. After pulling back the shower curtain noticed the ceiling of the shower was falling in with black mold in abundance. Went to front desk was given another room with a ceiling showing signs of the same problem. Black mold again. No coffee maker. Good luck getting in your room as the card readers don't work after multiple attempts. Run down dirty and smelly. Never again!!
I stayed here for four nights on business. The room itself was clean and well stocked. The TV only worked the first day and the tub didn't drain well, resulting in 6 inches of water to stand in during a shower, calls to the front desk delivered no results, beyond an offer of another room. Also, there was an issue with payment, so I used my own card, specifying I would pay for one night until the payment arrangements were rectified. They charged my card for 8 nights. It was later corrected. Only half of the exterior doors worked for entry from the outside, making access to my room a bit of a walk. Nothing earth shaking, but a series of inconveniences that will have me checking in to a different place next time I come to Kelso.
This hotel was freezing, no heat. We had a room the tub did not drain, I believe it was #176. It was disgusting to stand in a tub with other people's yuk almost up to our knees. My girlfriend went to front desk to tell them the problem, they sent her to room #174 to shower, the room was disgusting mess. The fridge didn't work, we put all our leftovers hoping to have lunch next day. This hotel should be a $50/night at most, freezing cold hotel. Charlotte who worked the night we checked in was friendly and professional, told us to tell morning clerk, she said the manager will compensate for everything. Cheryl was the morning clerk, she was rude, and said she has nothing to do with anything Charlotte said, very loud and rude, unprofessional, definitely not the right job for her.
I have stayed at this Red Lion location, off and on, for over 25 years. It's been almost a decade since my last stay and I remember the facility undergoing a remodel more than a decade ago that elevated the place to perhaps a 3 out of 5 rating. My recent stay was a zero. All the specific comments regarding deferred maintenance are true. My room had the following issues: no light bulbs in some fixtures, lounge chair and ottoman with ugly stains and a thick patina of dirt on armrests and ottoman, missing hardware on entertainment center, NO COFFEE, NO TEAK KETTLE, corroded bathtub hardware, nobody available at 0700 to check me out and get a receipt, only 2 hangers in closet, empty coffee containers at breakfast area, among others. When I peeked into the breakfast area at 0700, I could tell from over 30 feet away that there was no food of any nutritional value available. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Really, it's a non-starter.
Woman at the front desk has no business being there. She was probably the snottiest, rude person I've dealt with in a very very long time. Room reeked of smoke, there was no screen on the window so anyone could've opened it from the outside and climbed in. I ended up getting it shut with difficulty and there was a measly metal rod to "lock" it in place. The deadbolt on the door was also busted so the only lock to the room was the door handle. Traveling as a single female, I felt extremely unsafe. The restaurant and bar is closed and has apparently been closed for awhile? Update your website then because I booked this hotel because the restaurant/bar and that I wouldn't have to leave the premises. I know this is a cheap hotel but I would've sooner stayed next door at Super 8 as at least that place didn't look like a trash heap outside. Don't book here. It's gross.
