A wonderful community gem. A place where you're welcome to go and connect with others. Whilst there you could be tempted by a range of foods and sweet treats. The bacon and sausage sandwiches were popular with the hardcore folk in lycra who'd earned there reward on two wheels. I saw a couple of scones make there way to the tables, I must give them a go next time. Today I opted for millionaires shortbread and Earl Grey tea. There's a meal deal on Thrifty Thursday and a full roast on a Sunday. A number of community groups meet here, and there's a Knit & Natter where squares are made for charity blankets. The customers, staff, and owner were all chatty and welcoming. There are good toilet facilities too, always an essential when out and about in the countryside. If you have little people there's a wonderful playground area and green next-door. The part time post office is hosted in the building too. You can also purchase locally produced honey and Marmalade. There was a photography exhibition and works of art displayed for sale.
What a fabulous little cafe and a great find just a few steps from Hadrian’s Wall. The perfect stop or breakfast if you’ve started early, lunch or just a cuppa and a snack. Pet friendly and the perfect sausage and egg sandwich. Friendly service and good quality. Definitely worth planning a stop off here!
Fantastic little cafe, in a beautiful village on the Hadrians Wall path. Loverly, good quality food at very reasonable prices. Friendly welcoming staff. Visited twice, once in 2019 and again in 2022. Will definitely go again when in the area. Highly recommended.
Walked all morning in the rain. This place was dry and warm and had soup. Plus, it was the only establishment open in the town. So, yes, I was a pretty happy camper.
We had a lovely breakfast here when we were walking the Hadrians Wall Path. It was hearty and in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Food and drinks were good and you can bring your dog. Price ist great for what you get.
Great little cafe, staff are great and the food amazing.
Lovely little place to grab a sandwich or a cake while waiting to check-in at our accommodations. Friendly service!!
A really great little cafe. Wonderful food, tea, coffee, cakes and yummy lunches. All homemade. They also accept wellbehaved dogs and their owners. A small group of tables outside for warmer days. We go regularly with the dog!
Cute little cafe. Really, really friendly staff / owner? Right on the Hadrian's wall walking route in a small unspoiled village. Superb cakes! Unfortunately no gluten free options. Dogs are welcome. On a nice day you can sit outside.
Fantastic little place for a cuppa and cake. Super friendly. Cakes delicious. Great if you are walking Hadrian's Wall. Nice clean toilets. Eat in or outside. Pretty village.
