It took me 6 months and 4 layers of management to close a simple account at this branch. I've never had such a bad experience in banking and wouldn't recommend this RBS to anyone.

Such bad service!   Stay away if you can.  I travelled in the snow to get to the branch at 3pm and just as I arrived was told they 'closed 1 minute ago and were about to put the sign up'  due to the snow.  So it doesn't snow for their customers?? Just because they wanted to go home 1 hour early....

I've found this branch are so good at picking up the phone I often call them on two different lines and have two different conversations at the same time! I hope they win some sort of "picking up the phone" award (a "Phoney" maybe?) because they are never keep you hanging.

Is this a first world bank? That ringing thing we call a phone, if you have one it needs to be answered. People on the other end need your help. If you are under staffed, Management need to address this. Basic business practice even for 3rd world banks.

Most staff members are very friendly but a few of them don't really know what they are doing. Once I was trying to send a SEPA transfer (a standard payment to the Euro zone) none of the staffs had heard of it! Consequently I got overcharged for £35 instead of £5 as it should have been. Also there was this one elderly staff who really didn't seem to know anything, and thinks that the best answer she could came up with was simply "I don't know", and was basically being very unhelpful.
