Just had a system flush, before installing new radiators, a Worcester boiler and a Wave controller. Really professional job from Ray and Larry (his apprentice) from beginning to end. A pleasure to have both of them in the house. Would certainly recommend to everyone looking for a high quality job.

We had a Worcester Bosch 18Ri boiler and several TRVs installed, the installation took two days. Ray and his apprentices Reece and Larry proved to be reliable and trustworthy which is very important when you have strangers in your home.
The standard of work was very high particularly the fitting of the boiler, pump, filter and neutralizer.
I found Reece and Larry to be very well mannered and very customer focused.
I had initially asked for 5 TRVs to be installed but when the lads were flushing the system, some of the valves started leaking badly and I decided that it was better to replace them, so 9 of the 12 radiators had valves and lockshields replaced.
On one of the radiators, the TRV had been installed on the return side rather than the feed, Larry offered to swap it round and said it would only take a couple of minutes.
I checked with Ray who told me it doesn’t matter, the valves are bi-directional.
Nevertheless, I decided that I would prefer the TRV on the flow side and asked Larry if he would swap it around. This prompted a response from Ray; lets just say you don’t shout at the person paying you almost £3000 to do a job for them.
Reece later assured me that it was fine, they have had no problems and that he would normally fit the TRV on the side of the radiator central to the room.
I was impressed by Ray’s brickwork under the flue but I would have liked to see more brickwork around the sides of the flue rather than all cement, it would look more natural, however the hole has been completely sealed against the elements. The condensate pipe was put through an engineering brick and the face of the brick broke off, the hole was filled with cement, again the appearance could have been improved if the face of the brick had been cemented back around the pipe.
Overall, Ray and his team did a good job on two of the coldest days of the month working in a very cold garage.
I gave Ray 4* because of the condensate pipe being put through an engineering brick (part of the damp proof layer) and the incident above.
We discovered two leaks a few days later on the Friday evening but I had difficulty getting a hold of Ray because as I found out later he had been away snowboarding in France. He came round the following Thursday, fixed the leak in the en-suite which was leaking water on the floor and he moved on to the radiator in the dining room, this one was weeping when the radiator cooled down in the evening. It was still weeping afterwards but I decided that I would wait until the weather got warmer before calling Ray back, I forgot to do that.
We discovered a leak in the garage a few weeks later, the boiler condensate pipe hadn't been fully tightened so I just tightened that myself.
I texted Ray on the 5th and the 17th October and then phoned him because the Boiler service was due in November, I was told that it was on their to do list, they would get round to it and that I had a 3 month grace period.
I texted Ray about a separate problem with the heating on the 19th and asked for a quote, he responded quickly with the quote and told me that he could fit me in that afternoon, I declined because the quote was not competitive.
I waited until the end of October before deciding to pay someone else to service my boiler rather than risk loosing the 8 year Bosch warranty.
I texted Ray on 2nd March after noticing the deposits on the dining room radiator pipe, he told me that he is only doing emergency work. I phoned back on 7th March, and asked if he could schedule me in, restating it wasn’t urgent.
I never got a scheduled appointment from Ray although he did ask me when my boiler service was due and then hung up on me so I removed another star and updated my review.
Ray has since come out, cleaned the pipe and checked for leaks and couldn’t find any. I have checked after the heating switches off in the evening and can report that it is now dry.
I give 5*s, if the work is excellent, the tradesman has good customer-facing skills and good after sales support.

Our 22 year old boiler let us down at the worst possible time of year- 19th Dec - and no one could come until until the 4th Jan. However Ray cleared his diary and was there next day. For the next 3 days he hand his assistant worked like demons to install a new boiler, flush the system and replace 11 radiator valves. They were accommodation and good humoured throughout. A great service, a life saver and someone we would use again and recommend without hesitation. Cheers Ray.
