Easy access, plenty of parking and great access to Manchester and Liverpool.
Nice little station but could be served better and no lift if your disabled and trying to go towards Manchester. Will then have to go to Crewe and stay on the train all the way to Manchester. No toilets or other facilities. Does now have an Amazon locker pickup point which could be very useful for some. Waiting room randomly closed and often foot often not gritted which sometimes makes the bridge and platforms slippy.
In this modern age it is unthinkable for there to be no access across the bridge for disabled passengers or those carrying heavy cases to get to Manchester airport. Very poor.
Well there's only step free access towards Crewe as the Manchester platforms are only accessible via a tall footbridge. Both platforms have seating and shelter and there is a ticket office and ticket machines to boot. There's also a car park with a flat rate of £3 and the person attending the ticket office was really nice and polite. Definitely made my day.
As someone who has a mobility disability, it is difficult getting up and over the bridge. Great new car park been built recently though, so good parking available.
Best way out of Sandbach
Your completely buggered if your disabled or got babies. There is no access to platforms 2/3 unless you can walk up and down plenty and I mean plenty of steps.
Went to sandbach train station today and 2 people had to lift me up today as i cannot do any steps its not safe for disabled people how they ment to get pushchairs up and people who cant do steps like me its very unsafe.
Today at 6.40am the temperature was very near freezing, the ticket office was open but the waiting room on platform 2 was locked, so we had to stand outside waiting for the train in near freezing temperatures! If staff are on site why is the waiting room on platform 2 locked? This is quite often the case!
Workers there are great! Nice quick way to get to Crewe and Manchester
