Little station for nice town. So far I found this station in good shape. Staff was attentive and friendly. Good service of trains by EMR. Plenty of parking in front of station. What I think is missing is facility for disabled people because there’s no lift for platform.
The station is good and parking works well but there are no facilities even the coffee shop looks to have given up. EMR has to be one of the worst performing train operators in the UK. Often late and only 5 carriages. On top of that it's well north of £100 to get to London so around £1 a mile and parking is £12. Trains are filthy and broken. It's embarrassing and a sign of the spiral of decline for the Midland mainline.
Can't comment on parking or refreshments, but nice clean toilets on platform 1, helpful and friendly station staff and an easy walk from the centre of Market Harborough.
Big thank you to Katie at Market harbrough Station customer service last Thursday she went beyond the call of duty to get me and friend back to Nottingham 10/10 for customer service. Time between 19.00 and 20.00 she is a
Have had problems knowing about the availability of short term parking, which could have been much better for assisting a friend and a relative with disabilities who needed easy access to the platforms. The lack of adequate toilets at a 'new' station has been an issue for far too long. Does anyone care about these things? EMR seem out of touch with customer needs. At least boarding a train is safer now - no large gaps to leap across.
Although it is a nice little station, it is awful for Disabled Access, London bound and they don’t provide discounted parking for disabled blue badge holders, even though the only way to get on to the platform in a wheelchair is through the car park, which is quite a way around the back of the station. It is really disappointing. A lack of accessibility across most train stations, seems to be standard :
Lovely improvements made to the parking. But there should be 15 mins free for drop off and pick up as these facilities are awful. Cars everywhere blocking the bus stop today. But the car park is ot half full... ridiculous
Excellent patient, clear and knowledgeable staff. Good train services to London and Nottingham.
As the station is about to go under major improvements to increase the linespeed and accessibility, my review of the station applies to pre rebuilding. The station has a nice enough design with a ticket office, large car park and taxi drop off point. Step free access is only possible for trains to Leicester and facilities like toilets are only located on the Leicester bound platform too. Both platforms have seating and a waiting room, but the London bound platform is really short. Trains stop far from the entrance towards Leicester.
Another bleak and windswept station with barely any shelter from the delights of the oh so surprising cold and rain. Like most stations it has not been updated from the 1970s although bless the guys who work there and have at least tried with odd buckets of flowers in random corners. The station hall is a lovely old building which like its counterparts was meat cleavered internally in the glory days of the 70s and 80s. This has left us to enjoy comfortless seating and terrible use of space in a decent sized building. On the plus side the cafe is far far better than the usual horrors and the staff at the station are great. Helpful and friendly always. Oh and you can get trains here.
