Along with a lot of reviewers here I agree it is a very pretty station which local volunteers take good care of with a supply of plants, flowers, novelty garden items and a charity book stand. Free toilets, main waiting room is warm, 20 mins free car parking at entrance. Bus stop and taxi rank is at the entrance and McDonald's is right next door. View of the castle. Around a ten minute walk to the town centre.
The five stars are for the staff, who were so kind and helpful on Monday 1st August. My friend and I missed our train to Liverpool due to traffic jams after the Kendal Calling festival and subsequent trains were cancelled. Staff at the station took us into the office and sorted out an alternative train/route and printed out all details for us. They were so calm, kind and helpful. We can't thank them enough.

Plenty of choice for some things, looking a little tired in places. Overall the largest town in the North Lakes area, can fill your shopping bag with most of your needs
It's a beautiful town, just a little too small for a day out, but well worth a visit. Beautiful old buildings and the castle was the highlight. For anyone who enjoys visiting such towns, this should be on the list.
Beautiful station with greenry all around. There is an old heritage building at the back which I wasn't able to visit but I loved the place while crossing by and would love to visit.
A pretty station building, good facilities and friendly staff. Just make the trains run on time and all would be rosey.

Very rude about parking. Felt intimidated and belittled Over pulling up in the carpark. Very rude guy who should jump on a train and stay on it till it stops. Talk about jobs worth. Perhaps he didn’t get the toys he wanted off Father Christmas as a kid. I would say ‘hey jobbo’ if I ever saw him again lol
