Penrith Station was quiet and very clean. There are lifts on both sides. It’s a good place to travel from if you want to visit the Northern Lakes. The train service is good, with direct trains to places like London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, and even Manchester Airport.nThere’s a coffee cart outside the main entrance, and a McDonald’s nearby if you want a quick meal. There’s also a castle right in front of the station.
Nice station indeed , helpful staff , tidy in all areas & the toilets are the nicest public toilets I’ve been too ! Possibly a recent refurbishment, also they have a water bottle refill station which is so handy for us cyclists .
Absolutely lovely station, staff are great and always happy to help. Very safe feeling, nicely decorated with plants and various community projects. Plenty of bike racks and a good easy to use lift for folks that need it.
We visited Penrith this past weekend visiting the city. Nice station with seating inside and out. Plenty of signs and train announcements. Short walk into the city of Penrith and the Penrith Castle is right across the street. McDonalds is right next door to grab a bite to eat or Morrissons is a short walk. Plenty of parking around as well. We loved the old architecture of the main station building. Enjoyed our visit.
Charming little train station. There is a pick-up bay for cars and taxis. The Penrith castle and castle park is opposite the station. There is also a macdonalds next to it. There is Morrison's and Booth's within walking distance.
