Stayed here for two weeks through a work course and the staff and management couldn't have been more accommodating. Rooms were spotless and anything I needed was replaced. The food in the bar was great! All cooked fresh and maintained its standard every evening! Would definitely visit here again!
The Radnorshire Arms is a beautiful very old oak timbered building in the black and white style. It is very rustic as a result, oozing ambience, history, comfort and great service. The lunchtime food was superb, 5• quality, taste, choice, presentation, portion size, 3 of us all agreed on it. I can't comment on the hotel side as we were only there for food but I'd guess it is good judging by everything else, a must visit place
During a three night stay in Presteigne not staying at this hotel we made three visits to this Hotel for drinks and Sunday Lunch. The venue is oozing history and authenticity, and during our November visit the fire in the bar was roaring wonderfully. The food at the Sunday carvery was really good value and the staff were excellent. Hope to return sometime.
Lovely room spotless. However, as someone who has had a recent hip replacement I found the toilet too low 14ins. Sad that we would have to pay extra for a hot breakfast. Continental was ok but no changes at all over the 4days. Some warm rolls or fresh croissants would make a difference. There is an amazing butcher a few yards from the hotel so there could have been really nice ham rather than plastic stuff. Couldn't fault the the staff. The language in the bar on Friday evening was dreadful so we only stayed for one drink. Rooms: Excellent size room Walkability: Lovely little town within a few feet if the hotel with really good shops . Great butchers and greengrocers Food & drinks: Lots of lovely places to eat again with a few yards if the hotel.
Loved this place. We booked last minute and we were greeted by Martin, who is such a lovey man. He offered us a room upgrade and of course we took it. Room was perfect for us and Martin made our stay so much better. The breakfast was very basic but the rest of the food in the resturant was good. We will definitly be returning. Mark and Kayleigh
Sunday 12th March. My husband booked a table for the two of us to have the carvery. Well where do I start, we both had the roast beef dinner, but when we tried to cut the beef it was impossible it was so tough and stringy. When asked by the first waitress if things were ok I had to say NO and told her the problem, she returned with the offer of a free drink but I said no, we should have a free meal, then a totally different waitress came to our table to say you don't have to pay but you are BARRED from returning for Sunday lunch. This is a place we called our local spending time drinking and eating out but to be treated like this is absolutely disgusting. But social media is a wonderful thing other people had complained about the beef before it was returned to the kitchen and another joint brought out. I wander how many other diners are now barred for complaining. We are both hard working people that like to eat out but to be treated this way is very unfair. If you can't take a genuine complaint you are in the wrong business.
Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Radnorshire Arms. Sunday carvery and an overnight stay in the magnificent room 7. All the staff were extremely friendly, from Jess on reception to Marcus the Head Chef. Nothing was too much. The hotel is an absolute delight. A late 16th Century building with period features including a Priest hole, and cellars reputed to come from the 13th century Presteigne Castle Sacked and destroyed circa 1216 If this building isn`t haunted, it certainly should be ! Walking the hotels corridors in the late evening, you expect to see someone from the 17th Century English Civil War coming round the corner. Locally there are Scenic walks, Water falls and areas of natural beauty. Why rush to the coast or to Snowdonia when you have the beautiful Radnorshire forest ? This is a must place to visit and enjoy
We have been back several times for the carvery. Great food and service. Would highly recommend.Service: 5/5
Traditional hotel, offering clean rooms, good food and a great outdoor area. Just ignore Satnav as the carpark is off the Presteigne bypass. There are steps, so it may be a challenge for some. Great value. Will be back.Rooms: 5/5
We had a lovely meal here, the staff were very welcoming, helpful and very accommodating for our children. The beer garden is also very nice with a lovely play area which our daughters enjoyed. Highly recommended
