The working Castle is WOW, just WOW. You can take photos of the outside and show how impressive it is but the inside is so impressive, a camera will never do it justice. The staff are all friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable. Blue Badge holders can park the car very close to the Castle and all footpaths are "accessible friendly". This is a working Castle , not a ruin and it is definitely one for the bucket list, there is so much to see. The "Yurt Cafe" is amazing and again lovely staff. We didn't get chance to explore the Deer Park but it looks lovely. Will hopefully visit again.
Lovely day out with my 2yr old grandson. Plenty parking, picnic tables, seated areas, and a great treasure hunt for the older children. All the walkways were clean and suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs. Never visited the gift or coffee shop as we took our own picnic, but will be returning to try the Afternoon Teas very soon.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
I'll start with the good. Lovely grounds and a wonderful, magical castle with knowledgeable and friendly guides positioned in each of the castle's rooms with some great history to tell. The not so good? The new plotters forest was limited. Few places to sit for adults and the kids will almost definitely not use their allotted 2 hours. Will definitely go back to see more of the grounds and revisit the castle.
How beautiful! Although the castle is closed until Easter, the grounds are lovely and the dog was exhausted. There are a huge amount of deer and they were not shy at all, the shop is very pleasant and the coffee good from the cafe yurt.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
We spent a wonderful November day walking around the grounds of Raby Castle. It is amazing to see so many different types of deer up close roaming freely as you walk through the beautiful estate. We could not access the castle as it was closed however that did not matter. Wondering through the fields and woods watching the deer interacting naturally with one another was a fantastic experience. We finished the day off with lovely hot drinks and cake in the Yurt Cafe. Scrumptious! The Stables Shop had lots of beautiful things to choose from including a gorgeous display of Christmas bits. We hope to return again and highly recommend a visit.
Absolutely stunning place ! The new play bit is wonderful. My two year old spent an hour and a half walking around, climbing and coming down the slide. The older two who are 6 and 8 had a fantastic time. Highly recommend!
Fabulous castle in beautiful parkland setting. Go inside and see the amazing collection of art and antiques or enjoy the park. New experiences being added in a raft of developments in the grounds. Great venue for car shows too!
Deer walk took around 2 hours to walk with a 4 yr old, amazing to see the wild deer so close up!! And a walk around the castle is brilliant even more so when your 11 yr old loves history, buying tickets in advance doesn't matter as you can buy there on the day. There is no fast track for advanced ticketsVisited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We visited for Fireside Stories with Santa and the Enchanted Forest. It was a really lovely experience and well worth the money. Felt magical from start to finish. Plenty of hand sanitiser points. The castle itself is stunning and the deer just add that special something. Plenty of toilet facilties and a good system for the cafe. Only slight issue we encountered was no soap in any of the dispensers in the toilets. Can't wait to visit again throughout next year
A Local place to picnic with initial entry free. A handy Cafe plus Facilities, if you didn't take your own Tea. A Shop to purchase local produce and for a very small fee. You can wander around the Castle Grounds, take a Walk of just Sit, like Me.
