Story

Queens Hotel is a luxury hotel in Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire. The current hotel was built in 1903 by the architect T.W. Cutler in the Edwardian baroque style in brown terracotta. It replaced the original Southsea House which had been built by the architect Augustus Livesay in 1861 and gutted by a fire on 8 December 1891. The book England describes the hotel as a "Magnificent Edwardian hotel overlooking the Common, with ornate stone-carved balconies and countless neoclassical decorative flourishes". The hotel contains 74 rooms and has two bars and a restaurant.An episode of Mr. Bean starring Rowan Atkinson was filmed at this hotel in 1992, first aired in March 1993.

Lovely staff and amazing architecture. We were in one of the old school rooms at first which was nice but old fashioned. We got upgraded to a new refurbished room because our TV was broken. Wow what a difference, decor and room amazing and very clean.
So glad I stayed here. It was just one night BNB, but the room was so good. The bed really comfy, walk in shower , and a sea view. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend. Staff were great, as well.
We loved it here. Such a lovely atmosphere, great staff, a beautifully refurbished family room and lovely food. We would definitely return. We heard a pool is in the plans and this would make us regular guests. A pool/spa would be absolutely fantastic.

We got married here on 31/10/2020 Everything is excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Ellie is a wonderful events manager and has been with us every step of the way all through covid too. Can't wait to stay here again!
Beautiful hotel. We did not stay but used the bar to cool down on the hot day. My Espresso Martini was made to perfection and my wife's virgin cocktail was very delicious bit too sweet to my taste but it's just me. Staff extremely helpful as soon as you walk in. Keep up good work
The Hotel Staff were most welcoming and dining atmosphere excellent. The food served was of an exceptional standard as one would expect. I was impressed.
