Been to family splash and really enjoyed it. They had lots of floats, inflatable jet ski, balls, goal posts and also music. The water was warm and clean. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The changing facilities were clean. I liked having the lockers 50p or £1 which you got back at the end. If you can get parking for £3.50 for max of 2 hours posted pictures. There are not many spaces but if you can get one it's just outside so great with children. Would recommend
We loved it here. The staff are just the loveliest, prices are fair, the place is kept very clean and tidy and the pool's are historically dated, but perfect to us! I've seen worse!. I've also attended to find some lovely fellow swimmers that seem friendly too.
This leisure centre is a city centre gem. It is in such a wonderful prime accessible location for anyone to use. There is a bus stop directly outside which is used by only some local buses. It is an absolute disgrace that the city council have chosen to allow this leisure centre to run to ruin and fundamentally close very soon as Derby City centre deserves to have these services available. The gala pool is a wonderful swimming environment. The staff work hard and are professional and pleasant. Many of us will be absolutely devastated when this leisure centre closes
Went with my 11month grandson, The steps are the wrong way around. Proper stairs into the deep end, then ladder steps into the shallow end?? I had to get help to get me then him in safely. Water was warm enough, however the changing rooms are absolutely freezing. When you have to stay wet so you can dry & dress the baby first, I was numb by the time I was able to get dried & dressed. It took me another hour before I felt a little warmer. Not in a hurry to return.
Staff do their best with little to work with, and a massive leisure centre to clean. I've trained in both pools, and competed in the gala pool. Smaller pool is very dirty, and all the changing rooms smell quite strongly of urine. Other reviews are saying it's cold, but i have found it to be no colder than other similar pools.
Really amazing place. All the staff are helpful and polite. The gala pool is really nice. It's a shame this place is closing down. Council just need to close for a refurbishment that's all.
Absolutely amazing facilities! I went swimming and to stretch and relax today and I am exhausted but feel amazing. The trainer was very aware of my special needs during stretch and relax, she gave me alternative exercises to do if I couldn't take part in one due to my disabilities. She also read up on my condition before class to make sure she was knowledgeable. Absolutely amazing!!
We've been here twice now, they is a large pool for adults/strong swimmers, and a large family pool, for everyone. The place is kept clean, but it is in need of tidying up a bit, for example the lockers are in need of attention, not many have a key, the type you put a £ coin in and the key is released, you get your £ back after you put the key in, after your swim. There are life guards about, keeping people safe. The place is basic and a little tired, that said we will keep going back.
Good precautions being taken to keep everybody covid safe. I'm a carer and no facility was available to book for myself and my client online. Called into baths and they said this would need to be sorted. Told to ring up to book but couldn't get through to anybody. Had to go in again to try and book our swimming session. Spoke to different member of staff who didnt know what to do. Staff were helpful and managed to sort something out eventually.
Joined last year as a student. Messed membership up 3 times now missed date once and paid twice.Glad I checked. Staff busy behind counter didnt seem able to help. Or know what to say or who to contact.Changing room was so hot in family pool i worry what's alive in there being it is grubby even seeing cleaning staff. Used gym it smells like its last proper clean was years ago. Nice staff mostly. Messing my money up was the last straw. Not a good experience. Sorry.
