Amazing cafe, friendly staff and very clean, lots to choose from and great for those with dietary requirements, dog and child friendly with lots of seating inside and outside. Vegetarian options: They sell vegan pasties, vegan hot chocolate with vegan cream and also vegan cake. Most of their menu is vegetarian or has a vegetarian option, as well as vegan sausages and gf bread for soups and breakfasts, And Vegan ice cream and dog friendly ice cream. Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly, child's menu and children's hot drinks available also. Parking: Large car park, close to the cafe and visitor centre Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of space for wheelchair users. Dietary restrictions: So many amazing choices of gluten free cake, gluten free breakfast and gluten free lunch. They sell Oat and Soya milk as well as vegan hot chocolate and Decaf.
2nd time visiting in the last month, both times Staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating .The food was delicious and outside seating area was busy but clean.
Beautiful area but very very messy. We had to move tons of mess and wipe down the table ourselves before sitting down. Quality could be improved. They had no forks or spoons, cups were even a struggle. We had to rummage around on others trays to find a clean fork to stir our coffee with. Please improve this, its rather disgraceful.
Not great if you need Gluten Free and website menu needs updating. I need gluten free options so need to check menu before visiting a place, their website showed they have jacket potatoes which are always a tasty, healthy and filling option. However when I arrived I discovered they no longer have it on menu. GF options are limited and boring, don’t want another bowl of soup. Ending up having a chicken quinoa salad which was the best option, it was lovely but just too small to be filling and value for money.
Pricey for what you get. The 'munch brunch' looked good but had a really over seasoned peppery taste that burnt your taste buds. The cornish pasty was stuck to the napkin and was also peppery tasting. Disappointing after enjoying the surroundings.
This is a great place to stop and get something to eat and drink when you've finished on the trails. Choice of hot and cold food as well as hot and cold drinks. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I would thoroughly recommend the Smoothies on a hot day and Jude's Doggy Ice Cream for the 4 legged members of the group. Parking: Parking uses an automatic number plate recognition system so you only have to pay on the way out and it knows how long you've been there and there's no need for tickets.
Adapted well to the covid age, decent selection of snacks and drinks, prices not too outrageous. Staff very helpful and the cafe has a good flow through it. Seating sparse and outdoor only though for the moment
Very disappointing. 6 of us arrived with three dogs before our walk so we weren’t muddy. We found a large table, sat, one of us waited in a que for half an hour ordered, paid, gave our table number then ten minutes later we were told we weren’t allowed to sit there as we had the dogs with us. There were no signs, the dogs were asleep and behaving well, it was washable flooring as with the rest of the cafe. We were given no help to find another table in the allowed area for six. We then waited another 30 min for some of our meals to arrive. Just as every one was finishing their meal the last two meals turned up. By this time we had waited an hour and a half. The food was ok when it arrived. I complained and we were given a free drink. However by this time it was far too late and getting too dark to go for our planned walk. Sad really. I used to love this cafe and it’s the first time I’ve been back since the refurbishment. I might give it one more try when I’m on my own but would definitely think twice before taking a group there again.
Over priced, terrible value for money. Ordered a goats cheese tart and it was a flakey mess with some filling thrown inside. A small amount of coleslaw which was actually quite tasty. The waste involved as they are not using plates but instead throw away cardboard.
Lovely clean and tidy cafe with plesant staff. Food not up to scratch had to return 2 scones as they were so hard and dry. Staff did not quibble and did so without objection so all good in the end. Parking a lot expensive just over 2hours £5
