This car park is my favorite in Cambridge. It's only a short walk to town, prices are very reasonable, and there is no time limit, i..e. no 5 hours max limit things often take longer than you think.nnYou pay on exit, there are pay machines at the entrance of the parking lot, but also a card machine right at the barrier.nnOnly downside is that the parking spaces are small, great for my mini, but very tight if you have a larger car.
We all know most multi storey car parks are grim but this one is as bad as they get. Parking spaces are ludicrously narrow and, even if you do squeeze in, forget opening doors on either side and being able to get out in any space next to a pillar. Top floor is better as you don’t have the pillars to deal with. I honestly think the place could show loads of spaces available and you wouldn’t actually find one that you can fit anything bigger than a Fiat 500 in.nnIt’s only once you’re in and leaving that you see the prices. 3 hrs 15 mins = £11.80. In fairness I knew I was going to get ripped off but that still hurt.nnDon’t think paying high prices will make the experience bearable. The staircases stink, the paint is peeling and, on the day we were there, the lift was out of order. We got held up driving out by the groups of people with pushchairs needing to use the ramps to go down 9 floors. The homeless man sitting next to the machines and offering to show us how to use them was the icing on the cake.nnI’ll never go there again and it’s possibly enough to stop me returning to Cambridge if this is how all of the council car parks are run.
I parked in this car park yesterday. It wasn't fantastic. The layout is confusing, poorly designed and extremely tight. The price wasn't cheap but I read from other reviews that it is cheaper than other similar car parks in Cambridge. If you want to park here to attend the Cambridge County Court also Employment Tribunal, this is perfect. It is a 3-minute walk away.
