Purr Inn

Story

We are a purpose built boarding cattery situated in Barnehurst run by Laura and Tony Martin.

Our cabins overlook our decked garden area and can house up to 2 cats from the same family with larger cabins available for bigger families. All cabins have natural light, are heated in the winter and cooled by fans during the summer.

We'd like to make your cat feel as at home as possible, so please feel free to bring your own bedding, toys, scratching posts etc.

All cats get lots of love, fuss and brushing if they'd like it!

Please call or e-mail to discuss your cat's stay. Feel free to come and view before booking so that we can ensure all your cat's needs are catered for.

We recently had to put our young cat in a cattery for the first time, for 3 weeks. We were really worried about leaving him so long, but Laura was so reassuring and kind. She sent us regular updates and photos to put our mind at ease and it's clear he was well looked after and loved during his stay. We'll definitely be using Purr-Inn again! Thank you Laura and team, very much.
Our cat has just stayed at Purr Inn for the second time. Laura and Tony are very special people who clearly love the animals in their care. The booking process was totally seamless and simple. Emails were confirmed and received speedily and payment was also simple. I loved that photographs are taken of the cats in their care and posted on social media so that we can see that they are ok. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Purr Inn to anyone that wants their cat or kitten cared for and happy whilst they are away from home. It is fabulous, clean and has large areas for the cats to stay in and really are lovely people. Laura knows the cats by name and knows their stories. So pleased we found this cattery
A fantastic cattery. I placed my cat Wally Chan here when I was away for his first ever stay in a cattery and it looks like he had a wonderful time! He came back with soft, shiny fur and the loudest happiest purr! Thank you so much!
My cat had the most amazing time at Purr Inn. It was the first time we were leaving our cat anywhere other than our home so we were nervous. Purr Inn made us feel so at ease, answering all of my questions. When we mentioned our cat suffers from stress, we received an email back same day with paragraphs about ways we can make the transition easier, supplements we could consider etc. While our cat was there, Purr Inn posted pictures on their Facebook and Instagram pages so I could see our cat was having a great time. The owners are genuinely lovely people and your cat is in safe hands with them!
My cat Milo has stayed at the the Purr Inn 3 times now and he loves it there. Laura and Tony are brilliant with him. Highly recommended cattery.
Our cat Cali stayed at the Purr Inn recently. Laura and Tony were kind enough to accommodate her at relatively short notice and she had a happy stay. She seemed very relaxed when we collected her, unlike a previous experience at another cattery. We will have no hesitation when needing a cattery again, to leave Cali in Laura and Tony's kind and capable hands.
Aunty Laura is the best cat sitter. I would not take my girls anywhere else. They always look happy in photos and are well looked after. They always come back happy. When your away from your fur babies you need to know they are in a good caring environment. Thanks Laura & Tony
Needed a place for our fur babies to stay whilst we were on holiday for a couple of weeks. I'd got in touch with a few catteries and the Purr Inn won me over immediately with the warmth in their response in comparison to others - this was our first time away from our cats and their first time staying in a cattery, and I could just tell that the owners really cared about their clients both human and cat! and that our cats would be well looked after. We also had an issue with ours not getting along previously as one was very territorial and we and always had to keep them separated despite having followed an extremely slow and thorough introduction process and having sought help from a behaviourist. I'd explained this to the owners and they said they'd experienced similar situations before and asked if we'd be willing to trial our cats in a cabin together under close supervision and frequnt monitoring, with the capacity to separate them if need be which we agreed to. We know all cats are different and some may never get along, and having had no luck for a year we weren't so hopeful - but miracles do happen at the Purr Inn and our cats never had to be separated once during their holiday, and they were friends by the end of it! We received regular updates and photos throughout their stay which was something to look forward to each day, and Laura was always very responsive and made every effort to address any concerns/questions that we had, and really helped put our minds at ease. She even kept in touch with us after the holiday to make sure everything was okay it's been 2 weeks since coming back from holiday and the cats are doing great and happier than ever. Other than this, the facilities are very spacious, clean, and clearly very well maintained. The staff are amazing - super friendly, accommodating and caring. And despite it not being the most convenient place for us to get to there are many other catteries much closer to where we live, the Purr Inn will always be first choice for us and our kitties! If I could give infinite stars I would!
Booked our cat in for 4 nights and came home very happy. Laura was more than happy to show us around the cattery before we booked and was very accommodating with our booking dates. The pens are spotless and the cats are very well looked after. Will be using again in the future.
We were lucky to have found Purr Inn, especially two months before a bank holiday weekend. Laura and Tony have been amazing! Our kitten have been looked after very well. We emailed for updates during our time away and they were responsive and we sent us several photos. We’ll definitely be back.
