Shower and changing area recently refurbished and redecorated. Now we get fewer shower cubics but with better shower system. The issue is that there's nowhere to put your shampoo on in shower cubics. You'd expect to have at least a small rack after installing all new showers. Carpark is limited to 2.5 hours and you'll be fined £80 if you stay in the gym while parking your car in car park. Lockers are still the same but fewer than before and the locking mechanism is very difficult to operate.
The staff are fantastic and friendly. Some of the equipment needs looking at which I have passed into management but overall it's a great gym, changing rooms are big and spacious with 6 private showers.
Playing the fire safety message 5 times in a row is 5 times too many. Also maybe you should diversify the music playlist from 6-9 repetitive party songs to some actual gym music. If these things change I'll change it to 5 stars !

Had been a member for about 5 years. Good selection of equipment, although things like the cross-trainers and treadmills aren't the newest - and you can tell as sometimes there's an odd clunking or rattle when using them as well as looking a little dated. You get the odd one "out of order" every so often, but then it is a 24 hour gym so I imagine they get used a lot. It's very spacious inside, but being a central gym can get very busy. In fact it's busy most of each day and so it's best to go later on 8PM onwards if you can. Sometimes you have to have your music turned right up to cover the blasting music from classes or events within the gym. Another annoyance is a regular recorded message that also blasts later on that takes me out of my stride. You can enter with a code, key fob, or the app. There are 2 "pods" you go through to access the gym, but to me these have it feeling like you're entering a prison, you can barely fit into them and clearly designed to stop multiple people entering at once. In busy times you're waiting for people to come and go for access. The fob would be the best option for access because you simply scan and go where as the app can take a while to load up, or you can forget your code. After a certain time I think it's 5pm they also shut the main doors for some reason where you can't scan the QR in the app from the outside. Unnecessarily you then have to enter the main doors, before you enter the pods, to enter the gym ??. Locker rooms and showers are kept clean. There's a female cleaner that comes in & out the male changing rooms, so keep that in mind if it's something that bothers you. The actual lockers are terrible; the handles are stiff and the locker housing on some is bent. The showers are push buttons, which is fine, but you have to push the button every 5~8 seconds. Of course they don't want water running for long periods after someone has finished, but it's pretty inconvenient to shower properly. By far the worst part of this gym is the car park; It's often busy but there are the odd free spaces, although none at around 8am and 5pm. It seems pretty neglected and barely any markings, but that can be understood as explained below. After parking you have to enter you cars' reg into a rubbish unresponsive screen once in the building to "validate" your parking, where there can be a que to do so at busy times. Sometimes 1/8 times the ANPR camera doesn't pick up my car after entering and so I cannot select it on the screen for validation. And beware with this one since I got stung with a unjustified fine; I was in the building at the time of "offence" which I appealed immediately with evidence, but they still proceeded to charge me £20 "administrative costs". I enter my car reg each time religiously but I was not explained why I received the fine, only for the parking terms & conditions to be explained. This is often a tactic used by these callous parking companies to intimidate. It's mainly for this reason I found an alternative gym. Bringing the issue to PureGym basically they explained they could do nothing as Pure and the parking company operate independently, and in fact Pure do not even own the car park, rather owned by the parking company 'Highview Parking Ltd', so if you drive keep in mind it's a bit of a danger zone to get stung.
Allowed me to buy a day pass, turned up and it shut at 12noon. No PIN access will get you in. Didn't this used to be a 24hr gym?
Love it. Enough equipment. Great staff. Not expensive. However I think I am lucky to be able to use daytime's. Just been. I did squats. I like the sledge thingies they have now. Update: Better lockers in changing room. The locking mechanism is far superior. Pure Gym didn't go cheap and cheerless.
Great gym, friendly atmosphere and fantastic value.
