They appear to be confused about whether they are a gym or a night club. Makes sense that loud, upbeat music is motivating for some but is not for everyone and the actual music itself is obnoxious and gets stopped, started and turned up and turned down every few seconds and theres no where you can go in the gym where you're not subjected to it.nnIt can be difficult to get on machines or get use of the studio space as theyre often taken up by classesnnAlso the fact that the showers in the women's changing room are basically see-through and half length is a bit weird... the alternative is the accessible shower in the main part of the gym, where people seem to love gathering in groups and trying to force their way in while in use...nnIf it wasnt in such a convenient location for me it'd have found another gym a long time ago
Have been coming here since the beginning of December, and since the refurbishment it has definitely gotten worse. It is pretty good equipment wise, and for the price it is a good deal. However the amount of people at one time is crazy and it is nearly always packed unless it is a weekend. On Monday at 9pm there is 145 people here and you can’t get on any machine, really need to address the issue as it makes it impossible to do a full workout. Also people are constantly leaving 100kg worth of weight on machines which the average person would struggle to take off and takes around 4 minutes to sort out.
The gym has had a recent upgrade which has improved the aesthetics. The equipment is decent enough, basic - but it works perfectly. The people there tend to mind their own business.nnThe biggest issue is how insanely busy the gym can get, particularly at peak times anything between 1700-1930. I’ve never had trouble getting on cardio equipment but otherwise it’s a lost cause trying to use any of the resistance equipment which is often crowded around by large groups of people. There’s a lot of pieces of equipment where there are only two machines of a particular sort such as there only being two leg presses so you could wait a very long time to be able to use them. Obviously the gym cannot control how busy it gets, but it feels like it’s significantly oversubscribed.nnExercise classes run on the gym floor are incredibly loud, and often ends up with bits of kit being sequestrated into the class so they cannot be used by others, such as two of the four rowing machines being taken.nnIf my only option was to go to this gym after work, it would be hard to get even half of what I planned done. Lunchtimes and weekends are much better.
Really spacious so it's the great place to work out and has a lot of Equipments. Love the classes especially the spin class and GLC classes with Lola. Very beginner friendly and makes working out fun.
I used to love coming here But the fact how nobody cares about personal hygiene and cleaning the equipment once finished with strikes me. Just don't go to the gym smelling. I understand you'll break a sweat but don't improve the smell by 100x
