Hi,nJust to feedback how good one of your newer instructors are at PureGym, in Eastgate Retail Centre, Bristol. His names Mason and he teaches the 9.15am class on Mondays. I’ve been going there for a month or so and find him to be really excellent. He’s clear in his teaching and takes care to do a warm and and down, which I appreciate as a yoga teacher and the exercises he chooses are appropriate for the main workout. It’s only a half hr class and I’m amazed how much of a workout I get with his super sets considering he’s fitting this all in over just half hr. He’s very polite to those who attend and explains things well, encourages us. Really fab. It’s good to see young people that are so respectful, and engaging, as well as being so clear in their instruction. I notice he’s good with everyone there and we are a mixed group of abilities. The re are a number of really good instructors there. It’s literally ridiculous how cheap it is, I go a few times a week or more.nThanks.
Really good gym in terms of equipment, tonnes of racks and benches and lots of space to do everything. This is however, the filthiest gym I have ever seen. Weights and equipment scattered all over the floor throughout the gym. The changing rooms are the worst I have seen and I have visited many pure gyms, staff checks are signed and place is still a tip. The showers are also very cold.
A good gym with lots of equipment. There was a member of staff there when we arrived but they had left by the time we left so it was all run remotely. Clean and tidy. A reasonable range of people all doing their own thing.
I went to this gym whilst spending time in Bristol. Even for a PureGym the standards are low. The dumbbells are out of order and dotted around the gym, left to be tripped over. This is the same with the plates. People would finish their set and just walk off, leaving plates on barbells and dumbbells where they were.nOne dumbbell had chewing gum stuck on it, that was dirty and had clearly been there a while. There were empty plastic water bottles, used tissues and even blood stained plasters on the floor. With various handles for cable machines there are paper towels and wipes just left on the floor.nThe staff don’t seem interested in keeping the gym tidy, rather leaning on their desk scrolling on their phones.
PureGym Bristol Eastgate is a great place to work out. It has all the basic equipment you’d expect, including both traditional free weights and modern machines. Whether you’re into cardio, weight training, or general fitness, you’ll find what you need here.nnThere are two floors: the ground floor mainly has cardio machines like treadmills and cross trainers, as well as some dumbbells and resistance machines. The first floor features more strength training equipment and a dedicated dumbbell area, though there’s only one main dumbbell rack. There’s also a studio room for classes.nnWhile most machines are available and in decent condition, a few specific ones are missing like the seated leg curl hamstring curl down machine. Instead, there’s the lying hamstring curl machine. Sometimes a few treadmills or machines might be out of order, but they’re usually fixed quite quickly.nnThe gym also offers a good range of fitness classes, which are accessible depending on your membership tier. If you’re looking for more personalised support, personal trainers are available at an additional weekly cost.nnOverall, it’s a well-equipped, spacious gym with everything needed for a solid workout.
