Very very extremely slow I have ordered my breakfast, and it did deliver after 1.5hr. When others wee having their lunch, but we were still waiting. Recommendation: you need to have a lot of time!!!
We sat in the garden as we had the dogs with us. Unfortunately the dog jumped up, knocking over all the drinks on the tray, causing the food to get soaked!! The lovely staff refused payment for 2 replacement drinks and were really helpful. A super clean and beautiful setting.
Beautiful surroundings, absolutely lovely however the service is shocking. Extremely over priced. I ordered a cream tea, steak burger and chips plus some cheesy chips on the side. When they brought our food over the tea was missing, no cutlery... The boy went back to get them and came back with just the scones and still no tea... Sent him back again and this time he didn't return so I had to go in to retrieve it. No apology just treated me like I was more of an inconvenience, felt very uncomfortable after paying almost £30 so won't be returning and wish I had gone to the other cafe instead.
Really bizarre service. Table of 6 people, pre-booked, yet it took over 40 minutes to get anyone to come and take a drinks order. We had to go and find someone three times, and even the person who finally came didn't seem to have actually been sent over after us asking. The person at the bar seemed annoyed when we asked if we should order drinks with them or at our table. One of the party had to go and get wine glasses themselves. A huge shame because the Sunday roast was lovely! Great portion, lots of thick gravy, good roasties, delicious roast beef and sides. Also dog friendly indoors, which is always a nice surprise. Just a weird atmosphere and very slow..
We ordered Sunday roast! It arrived looking very good. However, the beef was tough and had a terrible test! My 10 year old daughter was dissapointed as she was starving. The veg was precooked and gravy was sugary with a king of jammy test. I informed the waitress and he kindly replaced with chicken breast which was even worse. I went to complain to the bar that there was not anything to eat decent on the plate as nothing tested fresh but looked good! She rolled her eyes to me and offered me refund which made me really upset. The point is not trying to get the refund. The point about listening the costumers complain to improve the service and quality and offer them something better than being rude to customers! I made my point and walked out not to return ever again where the food is over rated.
Stanmer house could do really well if only a little more thought was put in to their daily running. Having sampled Tisbury food before, I was hopeful. My first visit was for brunch with a friend. At 11am we were the only ones there yet service was slow and staff were abrupt and cold. Today, we tried again. Hopeful for s lovely brunch at 10.45 am, only to be told that they are only serving roasts. Why advertise breakfasts and lunches when you are not going to serve them! There was even a board outside the front door advising breakfasts! The house was empty apart from two ladies having coffee in the garden, yet the other cafes were full. Such a shame. I won’t be going back.
The roast was nice , what I could eat. A table next to us had a dog kept shaking its fur and kept picking it out of my sons food and my food and drink. I did moan , nothing was done. To be honest no dogs should be allowed around food.Food: 5/5
Lovely house converted into a cafe and restaurant. Great venue for a wedding or event. Parking available on site. We went for afternoon tea but you do have to book in advance. We then sat down in the cafe area of the house. Room for approx 20 people. Service was average, coffee took a while to arrive. Not great value for money but it is a great place to visit for views and property. Might try it again on a different day.
Service very slow, 3 of our party had to wait 30 minutes from there drinks after the others received these, they came after 4 requests. Food was only warm.. One waitress was rude and very sullen..also got annoyed when We refused to pay service charge. Our bill was over £300 ..will not recommend it or go back
Friends and l had a good meal here today Cajun burger and steak meal. V nice. Did not have a too long a wait.. Pretty prompt in fact. Staff friendly. The pot plants could be watered more as many looked pretty near deaths door. Staff said some are fake, well, time to get some more Otherwise worth a visit !
