Brilliant place for food and drinks! I go frequently with my vegan girlfriend and occasionally my mother with her dog and it's perfect with accommodating both. The staff are always talkative and helpful too. Couldn't recommend enough. We have also had meals other days from Sunday which have been amazing too. Vegetarian options: They have a few vegetarian meals and normally one or two vegan options.
We came here for food with work on Tuesday afternoon, it had a very pleasant atmosphere and the serves was very good. Our food came and it was lovely and HUGE, the burgers looked amazing. Id recommend this pub and hopefully we will be back.Food: 5/5
Lovely dog friendly pub with the most amazing comfort food. Got the pie and chips, both homemade, and massive portion for only £10.50. The gravy boat could have fed a whole family's sunday lunch. Amazing value for money. Will be backFood: 5/5
After struggling to find somewhere for breakfast in the seaburn area without booking or waiting for an hour myself and my girlfriend tried the promenade and i was happy to find they did a breakfast menu and i wasnt disappointed. The very polite young lady serving made sure we got exactly what we wanted,a huge cup of tea arrived quickly followed by a brilliant breakfast for both of us cooked to perfection. I was very impressed with both the quality of the food and the service.we will definitely be coming back soon. Well done the promenade, the lovely staff and the chef.
Great place I can't thank you enough. We had Dad's wake on Wednesday afternoon at the Promenade . They cornered of part of the room to accommodate us. The owner organised the food for 20 people it was really good quality and very tasty. The Bar staff were fabulous Thank you everyone at the Promenade would definitely recommend this splendid venue.
First visit in years. Nice little pub. Food was going down well but we didn't have time for any. Service was good and the staff friendly. Looking forward to next visit and possibly having some food.Service: 5/5
Popped in here for some breakfast last Saturday, was very tasty, went for the fry up of course. Latte was good. Service was very prompt. Only thing I'd change is the oiliness of the hash browns but more so for the calories than the taste :O
Lovey, friendly, cosy pub on the seafront at Seaburn. Overlooking the beach, The Promenade served up some lovely food with a home-cooked feel to it. We called in in the off-chance on a Saturday afternoon. Seaburn is a busy place and The Promenade was relatively busy as we expected Sunderland were playing at home but we got a table easily. I'm not sure if it gets football fans in, to be honest, as it's the first time we'd been in, but there are several TVs on the walls and they were showing football and the F1. There was a friendly atmosphere. I ordered the turkey roast dinner with extra pigs-in-blankets and my wife had the fish and chips. The roast dinner was very nice. The veg tasted and felt freshly cooked even had lumps in the mash, and the PIBs were delicious. My wife's fish was HUGE, with a mountain of chippy-style chips. She loves fish and gave it the thumbs-up. We didn't try any desserts as we were absolutely stuffed. Luckily for me, an old SAFC supporter, the Sunderland match came on, so we decided to stay a bit longer and have another drink while watching the match. At half time, the very friendly staff brought round free trays of sausage and chips....... No, I didn't.......
Nice chatty staff. Tables need a good coat of varnish. Sharps beer again Inc Doombar yucky. But overall a nice seaside, seafront pub which I can imagine gets very busy in high season. The barman assured us that the food was excellent and even recommended the beef sandwich for me and mussels for wifey. Unfortunately we were going home next day so couldn't revisit to review food.
Had a Sunday roast and the plate had quite a lot of water on it as the vegetables hadn’t been drained enough turning everything to mush.I told the member of staff who said she would let the chef know, there was no apology and she just emptied the food off the plate which should’ve been shown to the chef.Have ate here on many occasions and food has been ok. This has put me off returning.
