Terrible patient service. Appointments usually take a minimum of 6+ weeks and then you’re contacted to encourage you to cancel your appointment. They are clearly under staffed, which suits them as they are paid based on the number of patients registered not the quality of service or patients treated, and the systems they have introduced are entirely geared around making life easier for their staff and with complete disregard to their patients. I have raised the issues patients are experiencing with them and basically been told very arrogantly that their systems are great and much better for patients - based on patient feedback that’s clearly not the case.nnAs for Amy D’Argone’s post, she is affiliated to the Green Party and this is clearly politically motivated - GP practices in other areas, e.g. Dunnington, Escrick, etc, manage to provide a great service to patients and as all GP practices operate under the same national government it’s clearly very possible to provide a good service. Don’t allow a politically motivated blame game to be an excuse for poorly managed local services by some!
I have only been here since the end of March and I have been treat disgustingly. Trying to say they can’t give me my medication for my mental health that I’ve been on for 11 years. The doctors are difficult. The staff can be rude. I came here to get better care. I’ve never known anything worse.
Happy with GPs but very difficult to see them in a timely way. This was their response to requesting to see my GP yesterday when I'd asked to see a GP asap:-n“Hi, this is Priory Medical Group acknowledging safe receipt of your recent contact. We will contact you again in the next 21 days to confirm when a clinician will review your query.”nn2 years later... 21 days would have been great on reflexion! I waited 3.5 months for a follow-up with a GP for an ongoing condition that was causing me much anxiety which turned into a telephone call in the end with a nurse practitioner! That was the last straw and I've moved to a different practice. Individually I was happy with most of their GPs but as a practice I didn't feel safe. It didn't work for us who pay for it as it should do.
Helpful and compassionate care. Moved to this surgery from a different surgery network and the care is so much better here. It can take a while to get an appt for routine care, but the triage system works well and you can get through if the situation is more urgent.
Was given a phone appointment 10 days after I called. Two days before I was due to go the surgery rang to say that they couldn’t see me due to illness and wanted to book me the week after. As I had already been waiting for over a week I stuck to my guns as I am struggling with my breathing and need inhalers, eventually the call handler agreed that someone would call me late morning on Thursday 27th.nI waited all morning, no call, then received a message that I had missed my appointment!nI immediately called the surgery and was put through eventually, to the practitioner who said she had been waiting to see me - she had no message to ring me and I was not told to go to the surgery. Left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, a completed waste of everyone’s time when appointments are so valuable.nThe practitioner issued a prescription, I checked where it was going and was told Fulford. Later when going to pick it up was told they didn’t have it. I went straight to the surgery who confirmed it was issued to the Fulford chemist, they gave me a duplicate and I was told they could issue the inhalers if they hadn’t already been dispensed.nI went back to the pharmacy only to find it wasn’t there as it had actually been sent to the pharmacy in Fishergate, they could not issue the inhalers to me as they were in the system already. By the time I got to Fishergate, they were closed.nJust misinformation after misinformation I despair of what is going on. I spent yet another night of discomfort not being able to breathe. This is just not good enough!
