In the last 9 months I’ve been several times to the surgery. Both with my children and for some medication for myself.nI have been seen in person, over the phone, spoken to receptionists, doctors secretary’s.nI have always been treated with care, kindness and every single person I’ve spoken to have been so friendly and helpful, always called back when they said they would, any request has been dealt with efficiently and quickly.nI honestly cannot fault the care and service here. Thank you!
My question is a simple one; are there actually any doctors working at Priory Gardens? 3 months we have been waiting for an appointment. We are fobbed of with nurses or pharmacists, none of which are provided face to face. I’ve been with this surgery for 33 years. Enough is enough. They’re beyond useless. I’m off to find a surgery that employs real doctors, not holograms.nNote added 5.2.24;nIn response to the comment below; I do not say in my post above that the appointments were for me - I say specifically ’We’.nMy husband was discharged from hospital in December 2023 and told he MUST see a GP within 2 weeks. 2 MONTHS later, this has not happened, as is detailed above. By all means call my husband to arrange an appointment. I will be astounded if this happens.nPost edited 19.2.24. So, the surgery did phone as promised and my husband did get an appointment with a doctor; after a further 10-day wait. The response of the doctor- to send my husband back to hospital. No treatment plan. No actual ‘doctoring’ - just being fobbed off again. To add insult to injury, we then discovered that the pharmacist had ‘forgotten’ to place an order for his prescription and so yet another unnecessary delay followed.nWhat is wrong with this surgery? Why no joined up care? Why is there no accountability or responsibility? Why is everything such a battle?
The new telephone service is a lot quicker to get answered and the staff are very helpful even if unable to give an appointment they have tried alternative ways to help me I am also impressed with the new Anima I have used twice and got such speedy efficient response. The doctors are excellent. My only request is it would be helpful if once a month a late night surgery was available to book in advance for working people
The receptionists and those that answers calls are not helpful at all. I have been waiting to book to see a GP for more than 3 weeks and have not, each time, they will tell me that there is no other appointment for the day. In 2 occasions, the call handler ended the call whilst I was explaining why I need to book appointment with GP.
I have only ever had a diabolical experience trying to get an appointment with this surgery.nThey just say appointments only run for 3 weeks but they are all booked up for 3 weeks. And the rude receptionist hung up on me as I was trying to ask how I can just simply get an appointment.nI’ve only needed to go to the doctors about once or twice a year and each time I absolutely dread the process with this place. Not acceptable at all.
