Checked into POW a & e on 17th October at approximately 5.45 pm with a deep laceration to my hand. Was seen almost immediately by triage nurse who was very professional. At 11.30 pm I was seen by a doctor and was given a X-ray which had to be changed by radiographer because it said to X-ray left hand instead of right which showed the wound was free from glass. I was discharged and was told to treat it as I would a normal cut with no covering or aid to stop infection. The wound is gaping and I’ve had to have a friend to put strerry strips to help keep the wound closed. Besides knowing there is no foreign body there…what a waste of time!
Had cataract done on Saturday 19 November ! What a lovely dept wonderful care from all the nursing staff and consultants ! Thank you very much xx
Terrible service, mother went in with extreme pains in her pancreas at 4:30pm they chucked her on a paracetamol drip and stuck her in the waiting room like she was an object, didn’t allow her any other meds for pain or anything until the doctor had seen her which was an 8 Hour Wait!!!! Finally got seen by a doctor and got sent back home at 7am with nothing but extreme pain, waste of time
Attended A&E mon 17th with a blocked catheter seen within minutes, procedure carried out very professionally and discharged within an hour , thanks to you all very much appreciated
My elderly Mother is currently a patient on Ward 4 the cardiac ward and her care has been exemplary. She has been treated with kindness, respect and compassion by everyone from the paramedic team who took her to hospital, the amazing A& E staff who were so kind to my Mother and myself spending time to talk to update me as COVID prevented me visiting. The nursing teams and support staff are just fantastic and are a credit to NHS. You would never know that they have been through 2 years of hell!!! They show no signs of compassion fatigue and my Mother and all the family can’t thank them enough.
Fabulous hospital with excellent care. Doctors and nurses have allays been amazing with my care.
I had an appointment for a Colonoscopy. The staff were fabulous.I was treated with dignity and everything was explained fully. They made me feel assured and safe in their hands.
This hospital is absolutely disgraceful been having a rough time coming off meds with terrible withdrawal symptoms these doctors & nurses didn’t take me seriously and I’ve ended up with no muscle function & totally vague told me I’m making it all up and it’s all anxiety .. was told I be having an asbo if I keep turning up .. this should be a place where you go if you feel unwell not to be made out your waisting there time
Left in minors after an accident, should have been in majors. Doctors & nurses great on the day but aftercare poor. Left in temporary cast so the fracture wasn’t supported and it moved. Now left with poor movement in limb and a thumb that doesn’t work at all. Nobody answers the phone and fracture clinic appointments are not flexible at all. I’ll take my chances with a witch doctor next time!!
After being taken ill suddenly whilst in Wales I was taken to Princess of Wales where I was admitted for several days. From A &E, SAU and especially all staff on ward 8 Blue Bay,discharge lounge team I cannot fault anything at all. The care that I received was outstanding the staff are a credit to this hospital without a doubt. Thankyou so very much
