What a place to rest such lovely surroundings, I pause here for a while when passing by.
I was admitted into Pen-y-fai Hospital in 1973 when I was only twelve years old which was across the road from Glanrhyd Hospital and is no longer there. I was a gifted child with temporal lobe epilepsy but was labelled as mental, I could understand some maths worthy of A-level standard and had the mental age of an adult – all this before I was a teenager.nnI regularly went across into the social centre as Pen-y-fai was only wards and a convalescent home Angleton House.nnIt wasn’t the best experience for a twelve year old being admitted into an adults’ psychiatric hospital and I threatened to kill myself several times.nnI can clearly remember a guy called Selwyn and two Lillian’s who went around together.
As far as mental health facilities across the spectrum in the south Wales area go, Caswell Clinic in Glanrhyd Hospital is most likely one of the places that delivers better quality and care.
I had my 4th covid vaccination there by far thenBest place to have this done very wellnOrganised staff wonderfullynKind and helpful N H S topnMarks as alwaysnMs.kathrine Loveluck
