We have been staying here every few months for the past couple of years ,as we travel a long way to visit family and grandchildren. This is a diamond of a place. The welcome is so warm an friendly. The rooms are spotless, you will definitely have a good sleep in these beds. Food is amazing, the chef whose name is chrissie knows how to cook, full English breakfast top notch, evening meals simply beautiful, try the gammon, cooked to perfection absolutely delicious. We eat here, such quality in chefs cooking and of course great price. High 5 to Christie. Terrie who is the manager made us feel so welcome, she was so friendly, helpful and professional, when our grand babies stayed overnight, she made sure all our needs were met. Simply perfect. Terrie even suggested car park behind the theatre , which was only £13.00 for 24 hours. It takes special people to make you feel so comfortable, and they are all here at Derrys Cross Plymouth. We shall see you all again in October. Xx
I regularly stay in Premier Inns on business, probably 300 nights a year and while Premier Inns vary in quality and service some are most definitely better than others Premier Inn Derry Cross Plymouth is one of the very best.nThe location, restaurant and rooms are all excellent but it's the staff that set it apart and what makes it my Premier Inn of choice when business brings me to the South West.nAll of the staff are knowledgeable, professional, helpful, efficient, welcoming and friendly and it feels unfair to single anyone out as they are all credits to the Premier Inn brand but Caitlin Jackson, I believe tops the lot when it comes to customer care, I can't praise her or any of her colleagues highly enough.
The hotel's location is excellent, in the city centre, close to the main tourist attractions, in an area well served by public transport and buses, and not far from the train station.nThe room was spacious, with good noise insulation, and the bed was very comfortable, allowing for a good night's sleep and rest.nThe check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The reception staff was always helpful.nHowever, the service could and should be improved.nRegarding the room, it's hard to understand why it's necessary to ask for it to be cleaned every day. If you don't want a cleaning service, just put a sign on the door that you don't want to be disturbed. In our four-day stay, we asked for cleaning on the third day. When we arrived, we realised they had only left us one bath towel, so we had to ask for another at reception.nDuring our four-day stay, at breakfast on two days, there was no butter, only sunflower margarine, and, on one, there was no fruit salad. There were also no cold cuts - cheese and ham - something basic usually available in all the hotels I've been to.
Excellent location but equally excellent service. Staff were brilliant and very attentive. We had a tap fixed immediately after reporting a problem. Staff in this hotel set a high standard for Premium Inns around the country. For a city centre hotel it was very quiet. Had an excellent stay. Places to visit and places to eat, within minutes walking distance.
I stayed as part of a work trip. It was a great location for getting to things outside of work hours. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a good option if you're someone who likes a good selection, large portions, or several drinks :nnMy single criticism is the WiFi. Free is unusable and paid is practically the same. I just wouldn't bother.
