All staff lovely. Jade at reception is very helpful. Lack of air conditioning, causes room to be very uncomfortable on hot days with temperature inside room over 30 degrees C. Please see photo attached, 30.5 C on an evening during our last stay. On cooler days the hotel is totally fine. On a weekend night time can hear cars racing on the dual carriageway that runs close to the hotel.
You know what you are going to get with a Premier Inn. The reason I marked it down is the rooms are way to hot. There was a large fan in the room which we had on all night and barely felt a breeze on it. Honestly I could have blown through a straw and cooled the room more than the fan did. I don't even know how it is physically possible to have such a large fan spinning at such a high speed and produce so little breeze. Would highly recommend having the breakfast as the restaurant next door did a delicious breakfast
With no air conditioning, and the first heatwave of the summer of 2024, I was so dehydrated after my second night that I felt weak, weak enough not to stir out of the hotel all day. Next time, I shall know to sleep with the window open; I was on the first floor, so pretty secure.nnI left a note on the door handle that I thought would mean that room service would come in amd change the used towels. I now know that I have to inform reception for that.
On this occasion, the let down was due to people, either guests at the hotel themselves or just people eating and drinking at the attached restaurant, thinking it appropriate to shove their kids outside in the carpark to play football around people's cars and scream underneath people's hotel windows between 9 and 10pm at night. I had to go down to reception twice to ask the person there to try tell them to stop after the gestures I received from these kids when I asked them to go and stop shouting outside my window, were less than polite as if the parents shoving them out wasn't enough of a clue what type we were dealing with, the language and gestures of their kids was confirmation.nnAlso, again, those with children decending into the dining room for breakfast and again, instead of sitting their kids at a table and the parents going around the breakfast item, kids were left to wander and even run around, handle food etc..... unpleasant and noisy for people who do not cope well with noise and crowds, especially so early in the morning. My parents would never have let us wander around a restaurant / food serving area, we would have been sat or at least held by the hand to choose our food....I ended up having to wrap my croissants in napkins and take them and my coffee back up to my room the first morning and didn't go down for breakfast at all the second morning, eventhough it had been paid for.nI guess different standards of parenting and levels of entitlement means some people are entitled to have kids and the rest of us have the pleasure of sampling their delight, ruining our experiences....nnStaff were, however, pleasant and helpful.
Stayed here for 2 nights after braking down and was not planned to stay here. The staff were lovely and the environment was clean. Great location as there were lots of food choices around. Was a great value of £68 for one night and £58 the other. Would definitely recommend staying here. The room was lovely.
