Great location and parking is very fairly priced.nRoom was good and very clean.nStaff during the day were a great help but the evening staff were on a different level.nWe was left waiting an hour for a table when the restaurant is dead and then told it would be an hour for ordering food.nIt was a shambles with the evening manager and staff who seemed to walk around aimlessly.nnDuring the day and for breakfast staff were great!
Sadly this premier inn falls below standard. The rooms are a little dated and tired and definitely ready for a refresh. Also no on site parking with no clear instructions of where is best to park. £15 for 24hrs is ok but we needed accessible parking, on arrival at the hotel it turns out they do have accessible parking spaces outside the door. There was chaos managing a large booking in the reception so we were left to book in using the automated service. As such no interaction with staff to discuss our accessibility needs.nWhen I did get to speak to a staff member he was polite but just provided stock answers about parking and standard of rooms. We’ve stayed in far better standard and run premier inns.nUpdate: the beds are the old premier inn beds so are nowhere near as comfortable as the usual premier inn beds. Hard, you can feel the spring frame and over 6 footers feet hang out of the end of the bed. Pillow choices, bag of clay or sheet of A4 paper. No good nights sleep for us!
Arrived early but couldn't book in even though we offered to pay the extra. One member of kitchen staff told us we couldn't book in until 3pm as no rooms were ready but there would be a queue. . Returned 2 30 to be told still no rooms available by the same chap. 3pm exactly and 3 staff members turned up and switched on the booking screens by which time there was a queue of maybe 30 people. I felt sorry for the staff who were put in this position when if they had been on half an hour earlier ... or if the booking screens had been on ... it would have been a much smoother experience. I cannot believe that no rooms were available at 2.30 and that half an hour later they were suddenly ready for all. The dining room furniture was very worn. Added to that the much loved buffet breakfast was not available in the morning due to there not being enough people having breakfast. It's not the same having to order from the kitchen like everywhere else. Come on premier inn ... spend some money on the facilities and please get more staff. They were lovely and helpful but were struggling to keep up with the numbers of guests. Will think twice before coming back.
This is a super Premier Inn. Location is lovely and the room was very clean and comfortable. The reception staff working on Sunday evening 23/06/24 were so pleasant and helpful in sorting out my mobile phone charging issues. Thanks so much.nBreakfast was fabulous too. Highly recommended.
I think the whole approach of Premier Inn, is that wherever and whichever Premier Inn you're staying in, you know what to expect.nThis one was just what I expected.nThe constant variable is the staff and the food.nThe food here was, again, as expected. It's plentiful, cooked well, warm at best but definitely never hot. I do need to mention though, the Black Pudding here was fantastic!!!nThe staff here was not enough for the amount of people staying, that then led to delays in dealing with routine administration or being seated for breakfast. This was irritating as a first world poblem but in the great scheme of things, it is what it is.nAn additional coffee machine or two, would be a fantastic investment...just saying .
