Disappointing stay. The building is beautiful and location is great…. And that’s all I can say on the positives.nThe building is old and needs a lot of investment. It was unceasingly hot in the room, we were told that there isn’t any air-con as it’s an old building but they provide a fan in the room. It didn’t make sense to me that the room could be so hot at the end of October and the heating wasn’t on.nThe shower whilst good had a very poor drainage system so you end up standing in a pool of water.nWe originally booked one night and ahead of our stay decided to add another night. However, their booking system isn’t sophisticated enough to update your booking, so we had to check-out and check-in again. We didn’t have to pack up our things, but it was an added administrative burden which we don’t need during our weekend break.nThe parking is £30 a night or £15 if you’re a Hilton Honours member, which is very expensive.nBreakfast was very average in my view.nnOverall, I expected better and unfortunately I wouldn’t stay here again.

Great rooms, spacious with great decor. Service is always very good, I go stay often and some staff have even begun to recognise me. The location is spot on for staying in Harrogate and the bar and restaurant area is gorgeous, looks very up market. Nice outdoor seating area for the spring and summer too. Car park available if you need it although it comes at a fairly high price if £15 per day.nnThe gym is a let down, especially for such a grand looking and feeling hotel, it’s tiny, some okay gear crammed into a tiny area which is simply not fit for purpose and does not match the rest of the hotel vibes or features. There is a nice spa area which includes sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor hot tub and a decent sized indoor pool with mood lighting.nnChanging rooms have the worst ever lock and keypad I have ever used anywhere. Showers always out of shampoo and body wash which is very frustrating.nnAltogether a great place to stay, you won’t find much better in the area for a fair price
Very large clean room. Excellent large bedroom and large clean bathroom. No complaints whatsoever with food, spa, location or service- ample staff. Only questions why only one one-hour pool session per day and why £15 parking charge per night whilst those attending day event are free!!??nSorry. But although an excellent stay, the parking charge will prevent a return visit on principle alone
We booked a room here using Secret Escapes which came with an evening meal deal and breakfast.nnThe hotel was very easy to find using maps and we had no problem finding our space. Parking is charged separately to the room, but as we were only staying one night, the 24 hour rate was convenient enough for us.nnCheck in was with a very pleasant manager who asked us about our travels, our reason for staying and gave us our complimentary cookies. She also checked for dietary requirements which was good.nnOur room was spacious, but we were surprised it lacked air con. Whilst we understand it is a old building, we've stayed on far older abroad with perfectly good air conditioning! Nevertheless, there was a good fan which helped keep us cool.nnThe bathroom had a great shower, and the complimentary robes were a great touch.nnWe had a lovely meal on the evening in the restaurant, with very tasty food and great service.nnOn the morning we had a tasty breakfast which was very leisurely, in a great space. Plenty of food on offer as well.nnCheck out was quick and we had no issues leaving our car whilst we popped into town, as we'd already paid for the parking.nnWe'd definitely stay again if the price was right for us.
