I wasn’t best pleased on our arrival I asked at reception very politely if they could put my insulin in the fridge as I am a type one diabetic they refused and said I could put it in the pub across the road which I was not going to do as I didn’t want my insulin with food ! And didn’t want to walk across as i was very nervous as it was . I don’t like making a fuss about my bloods but this really made me anxious that they couldn’t support a medical condition! In the end I had to go out and buy a mini fridge so my insulin was kept cool .
I stayed here approximately 6 weeks ago for work. It was conveniently located for all of the places I needed to visit during my stay. The staff at the hotel, and next door in the Brewers Fayre, were all lovely and I received a very warm welcome on arrival from the 2 lovely ladies behind the reception desk. The room was clean and comfortable, the heating worked, the lift worked, there was WiFi, plenty of very hot water, bath, enough plug sockets, parking - I didn't find anything to complain about. The breakfast and dinner I had each day in the Brewers Fayre was good, no long waits, great service and the food was at the top end of what I'd expect from a Brewers Fayre. Despite being in a quiet location, I did find the noise from the nearby road/units bothered me; I think had my room been on the other side of the building, the minor disruption I experienced due to the noise would have been much less.
We have just spent four nights here, as part of a large Car Club Group, over 50 of us. The staff at the hotel were amazing, helpful and friendly, both all of the reception staff and housekeeping staff.nOur room was a particularly large room and benefited from a window that opened as well as the aircon worth asking if you like a bit of fresh air.nThe bathroom was spotless. The room was serviced as we wished, as we were there for four nights.nThe Brewers Fayre attached more than met our needs and once again the staff were all great. They catered for more than 50 of us for dinner for two nights in a very efficient manner.nBreakfast was great, plenty of choice and freshly cooked.nBeing from the South of England we were pleasantly surprised by the low cost of the drinks! I apologise for cleaning out the Whitley Neil Gin stock!nThe location served our purpose as we were doing long scenic drives for the two main days of our trip.
Stayed at the Ebbw Vale premier in quite a few times and sadly its going down hill like a lot of other premier inns. In my opinion PI have lost touch with maintenance and cleaning. High prices, average cleaning and poor maintenance.nDuring our last stay we found hairs, dirt and poop on the side of the toilet. The shower also had stains and the silicone and grouting needing replacement. The bathroom floor was also spongy where water had obviously been leaking for some time.nThe staff here are very friendly however on our last check-in we were told we had to wait 20 mins until exacly 3pm to check-in or pay £10. I know rules are rules but felt this was a little ridiculous.nnWe would stay at this hotel again but only if we can secure reasonable prices. The current rates of £80-120 is crazy.
We have stayed here a few times. The quality has been what we have come to expect from Premier Inn, which is high. The staff in the hotel and at the Brewers Fayre are extremely cheerful and pleasant. The room rates however, seem to be lower than average, allowing us to get very good deals. This last visit we stayed before going to the rugby at the Principality, which was only 40 minutes between the hotel and the event park and ride.
