Good location, only a few minutes walk from the central train station. The hotel was clean, quiet, and the staff were friendly. My room was spacious and comfortable for a solo stay.nThe main downside was that the windows could not be opened at all, which became frustrating during a 5-day stay as there was no fresh air in the room. There is air conditioning, but I still missed being able to open a window even slightly.nAlso worth noting that the hotel has no parking, so I had to use a nearby car park which cost me over £50 for 5 days.nOverall, though, I had a good stay.
Central location next to main train station, shops. Ferry port 10 minute walk or drive away. No onsite parking but plenty of car parks nearby. Spent 7 days here in a Premier Plus room. All rooms with aircon which worked well.Room was quiet even though it overlooked the station. The hotel staff are super friendly. Reception was great and the lady did everything for me. The + rooms are located on the top floor 5, which has good lift access. You need your keycard to operate the lift above floor 1 reception & restaurant floor. Other Premier Inns also require keycard use to access your floor but this one doesn’t. Room is basically a standard room with the addition of a fridge, 2 bottles of water & 2 small bars of chocolate and a coffee machine as well as kettle for tea & coffee. Unlimited supply as you can pick up more in reception. Bathroom has a rain shower & hand held shower over the bath. No PowerPoint for an electric shaver/toothbrush seems to be a common thing with Premier Inn’s but you’re ok if you need a hair dryer or iron & board. TV has a good selection from free view. Premium wifi is complimentary and is fast and reliable. Room & bathroom clean although common area’s such as corridors and lift were a bit dirty and not cleaned during my entire stay. You’ve got the option to have your room cleaned and towels changed as often as you like as long as you tell reception in advance. Restaurant on first floor serves full English and continental, latter is £2 cheaper. Cooked breakfast consists of the usual sausage, bacon fried/scrambled egg, tomato, mushrooms, beans, hash browns. Help yourself to as much or little as you want. Continental option is fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, spread , pastries. Various fruit juices, teas and coffee. Breakfast was fine although one day no show from chef but staff member dealt with it by cooking breakfast which was commendable. Didn’t have evening meal. One thing to remember is if you choose meal deal you’re committed to eating in hotel during your stay, but remember if chef doesn’t show up not sure if staff will cook evening meal.
Stayed here in late February while attending a course in the town centre. I arrived very late at night and was a bit concerned about parking and whether I’d be able to check in, but the reception was staffed and the team were friendly and very helpful, even at that hour.nnThe location was excellent—just a short walk to my course, with a Tesco and plenty of places to eat nearby. The room was clean and comfortable, and the TV worked perfectly.nnI would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Superbly located, very comfortable rooms., bar staff were amazing.nOne point I have to make : The food I had was absolutely fantastic. Wing , the chef gets top marks for probably the best piece of fish I have ever eaten!!!!!!!!!
Staff are really friendly, can't say a bad word about them.nLocation is good for getting around. Co-op a few minutes away which is great to grab food/drink.nFood was hit and miss. Standard premier inn breakfast. Burger was nice but chips tasted really weird, gone off oil? Didn't eat them.nRoom has usual amenities but no fridge or safe. Main issue was I was so cold. Had an Aircon unit but found out it's controlled centrally so it's turned off overnight. Very thin duvet. It was also not very clean, luckily I bring cleaning stuff. Had to wash my mugs and surfaces! Remote control was disgusting!! Hair dryer didn't work, got a new one and that didn't work, realised it was a dodgy plug.nParking was nearby but a bit annoying after you've travelled for hours having to walk in the rain with all your stuff.
