Excellent place to visit - so much to see and do! The museum is excellent and really shows the life of the Powell-Cotton family and heritage. The house itself is very impressive with more rooms due to be opened (as of April 2018). The gardens are great and extensive and provide a nice walk. There are plenty of facilities for picnics and to get a light lunch as well as the garden centre, craft workshops, mini golf, paintball and laser combat. Particularly in the summer months there are plenty of events on the green beyond the craft workshops and there are a herd of alpacas who are friendly and happy to be fed with the supplied food (additional charges apply). Overall an excellent day out, rain or shine!

What a great museum, it's like going to a zoo but without the animals being able to move, because they've been shot and stuffed. The kids loved it and I now already have my 3 year old asking to go big game hunting in Africa for our next summer trip (bless him he's desperate for a girrafe to mount in the hall) the gardens were lovely too. What a lovely place to get taken back to the great point of colonial British empire when we were the best in the world. Good for kids.

A largely unknown gem. The Powell Cotton Museum and Quex House are physically linked. The museum holds an enormous collection of taxidermy, dioramas, and weaponry from grand tours of Africa; an incredible educational resource. Walk internally through to the Grade II listed 1808 Quex House: small, but with an astonishing collection of antiques, art and artifacts, particularly in the drawing room and the library. The landscaped grounds are picturesque and contain a working Victorian walled garden and hothouses crammed with planting. The cost for entry was around £6.50, which is remarkable. What is equally notable is that the Park is maintained by the local council, councils typically being very poor at looking after historic sites. During the week when there are no events you are likely to have the place almost to yourself. An absolute must to visit. (Visited Aug 2015/16/17).

Really impressed by the exhibition - taxidermy in the abundance! You can really go back in time! Great fun for kids, the open gallery with many hands on artifacts. The gardens are absolutely stunning! I wish the house was open for visitors as well. We will go back.

Great visit. Annual tickets well worth the money. The children's activities run by the learning team (during school holidays) are excellent for both occupying a child for an hour and a half and also value for money. Looking forward to the maize maze in the summer.
